OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON THE SITUATION AROUND GAY & ENADIA
on December 1th, 2019
Citizens, Your Excelencies, Allies, Foreign Partners
You may have recently noticed the interregional developments around my administration's plan to propose peace plan to Enadia & Southfield. Both regions where accused by our previous government, and the Interregional Community of 'Fascisme and Homophobia'. Let me be clear that my Administration, neither Thaecia will make friendship with Fascist or Homophobes.
However 'making peace' even with alleged fascist should always be a path to pursuit by anyone, in order to make the interregional community safer. Appeasement doesn't work, but alienating or isolating one specific region also doesn't work. That is why I have worked with those regions to normalise relations, normalising relations doesn't mean accepting the other as friend or partner. It is not appeasing the other in any way. Opening contact, allowing for communication merly gives us the possibility to observe each other.
The reaction of our long standing partner Gay on the proposed 'Peace Plan', which even did not enter into force, or wasn't yet debated by our own Senate, was by unilaterally closing embassies with us. My administration and I personally reached out to the permanent ambassador of Gay to Thaecia. It has been made clear that embassies are no longer an option with us.
My administration regrets the unilateral dismissal of their ambassador and embassies to Thaecia. We remain open and welcome talks to ressolve the issue on the highest level. However we can only take note of their decision. The Foreign Affairs Office shall await our Senate hearing and debate on the possible peace talks. We shall adhere to the the democratic process and await a mandate to start off official peace talks with Enadia & Southfield
