"When the Sun shall set, and when the world will go dark, only then will Kafair fall, and only then will I abandon this nation, and its' peoples."
- Sultan Ori al-Karim, at his inauguration speech after the death of his father
The sultan spent significant amount of time at his early age jumping between a mess of tutors and instructors, the finest Kafair could find. He was a quiet boy when he was younger, and was nicknamed by his siblings as Tchofeh (Watcher), because he always seemed to just watch quietly at events. At age 14 his father finally took it upon himself to open Ori from his shell, and succeeded beyond his wildest dreams, thrusting him into poltics.
Ori spent his first few years tagging along with his older siblings or ambassadors to different nations, learning to mingle and work with nobles. He grew a love of both warfare and diplomacy through this, but got bored. Eventually, he went higher up in the food chain at age 16, being sent off on his very first 'solo' assignment to a vassal nation of Kafair (which has since been annexed fully), spending 6 months there. He did have two experienced advisers with him, but he quickly outgrew his need of them, becoming a popular diplomat. Seeing his aptitude for diplomacy, he was named his father heir, over his two older siblings. Both were angry, naturally, and plotted to have Ori killed.
Ori would eventually be alerted by one of his younger brothers as to the plot when one of the older siblings let part of it slip, and he confronted them. While both were older and stronger physically, Ori had prepared, and once he gloated them into telling him their plan, he dropped a coin to the ground, a sign for a group of 6 Royal Guards who had been around the corner to run out and arrest the pair, who'd be executed for treason.
Upon the death of his 76 year old Father by one of his bodyguards at a speech, he rose to the throne. Quickly becoming popular, he would sustain the deaths of two of his three remaining siblings, that being, Anzeir (Younger by a Year), and Oran (his other triplet). In order of their deaths, it was:
Anzeir, who died in the destruction of the Rift Bunker
Oran, who was taken off by Confederation Secret Police after imprisoning, couping, imitating, and committing war crimes, under the guise of Ori.
He has, as of now, passed a large number of rather famous policies, but has generally worked, like his father, to improve quality of life for his people. He has been named, even if he is a popular leader, as a brutal man, which is a fair description of him. He is directly responsible for the deaths of all his siblings (aside from Anzeir, he was killed by accident at the destruction of the bunker, and Mira, who is still alive and very close to Ori), and these have been brutal at times, with anything from beheading, burning alive, or, for his two older brothers, suffocation by burying them alive.
Executive Order 824
Order which brought about the immediate end to the many prison camps around Kafair, and the relocating of their inmates to rehabilitation centers.
Repeal: The Cleanse Policy
The Cleanse Policy was a 132 year old Policy, stating that anyone not following the traditions and religion of Kafair was to be, well, cleansed. This was repealed, but was really more of a name change, as he then made it so those not following the Temple, similar to those who opt out of mandatory military service, are placed lower on the priority list for anything from getting a job, getting into higher education, or even getting a loan or car.

The sultan spends many hours per day, when not in meetings, either practicing his swordplay, or playing board based War Games. He is also a trained cartographer, and enjoys making maps for these war games in his free time. A avid believer in the benefits of good company, his inner circle of nobles are all close to him, and on particularly quiet days they can be found in various quiet parts of the royal palace playing these war games, many of which they created themselves, to keep their minds sharp.
The Sultan is a avid swordfighter. He is well known in the world as a master swordfighter, and always carries a sword with him.
The Sultan, while he may look young, is a hardened warrior. A veteran of the Royal Airforce, the Army, and the Royal Navy, he was a total of 10 years of active service.
After the coup by his now MIA brother, the Sultan's body is covered in cuts and scars. Visible from his face to his feet, his body is a patchwork of injuries.
The Sultan has, his father aside, brought the most change to Kafair, both in policies and economics.
The Sultan was the Chairman of the Civil Congress of the Confederation of Corrupt Dictators (Under the Justice Party (JP) ticket, and then under the combined Greener Justice Party (GJP), though his term was prematurely cut short by the outbreak of the Jocospite Civil War (you can find a comprehensive overview, put together by the Archivists at the Royal Library here).
There exists a fully fledged song around the title of Fresh Sultan of Kafair, made by a composer from Alpes a Septentrionali Imperium.
Now, this is a story all about how
My life got all turned around
And I'd like to take a minute
Just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the Sultan of a realm called Kafair
In west Damascus born and raised
Out in courtyard was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all shootin some b-ball outside the palace
When a couple of guys who were up to no good
Started making trouble in my palatial crib
I got in one little duel and my mom got scared
She said 'You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Kafair'
I begged and pleaded with her day after day
But she packed my things and sent me on my way
She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket.
I put my turban on and said, 'I might as well kick it'.
Royal life, yo this is bad
Drinking Limonana out of a champagne flute.
Is this what the people of Kafair living like?
Hmm this might be alright.
But wait I hear they're fancy, sultanic, all that
Is this the type of place that they just send this cool cat?
I don't think so
I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for the Fresh Sultan of Kafair
Well, the plane landed and when I came out
There was a dude who looked like a soldier standing there with my name out
I ain't trying to get enlisted yet
I just got here
I sprang with the quickness like the sun, disappeared
I whistled for a elephant and when it came near
The armor plate said fresh and it had dice on the tusk
If anything I could say that this mount was rare
But I thought 'Nah, forget it' - 'Yo, homes to Kafair'
I pulled up to the palace about seven or eigth
And I yelled to the driver 'Yo see ya later'
I looked at my Sultanate
I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Fresh Sultan of Kafair
“This world has 3 types of rulers. Those who simply are, that meaning, they rule, they died, and are written as yet another name in a dusty old book. There are those who are ruled, if that be by corporations, their court, or even their own greed. And then there are those who shape the world, who challenge your views, who inspire reverence from their people, whos people give their lives for your cause. You can guess which one I am.” -The Sultan
“There are few scum as low as fascists and communists. Those who follow these ideologies are buffoons and idiots who have yet to understand the history behind what they preach.” -The Sultan
