Constitution Amendment (Minister of Information)

Overview


Purpose

The amendment seeks to officially legislate the Minister of Information.

Implementation

The amendment shall be implemented immediately following its passing into law.

Existing Law


Article III

  1. The leader of the region shall henceforth be known as the Secretary

  2. The Secretary shall be elected every three months at the general election

  3. The Secretary shall be responsible for:

    1. Appointing and dismissing the members of the executive ministerial body, henceforth known as the Cabinet

    2. Serving as the head of the Cabinet, with final decision-making power concerning its delegated responsibilities

    3. Representing the region as its Delegate to the World Assembly

  4. The Cabinet shall consist of:

    1. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, who shall be responsible for embassies

    2. The Minister of Recruitment, who shall be responsible for attracting new citizens to the region

    3. Any additional roles deemed necessary by the Secretary to operate the region

  5. The Cabinet shall be responsible for:

    1. Advising the Secretary as relevant to each member's designated portfolio

    2. Assisting the Secretary in their responsibilities

    3. Enforcing the laws enacted by the General Assembly

  6. An appointment to the Cabinet must be confirmed with a two-thirds majority of World Assembly and Military Voting citizens in favour

  7. The Secretary or a member of the Cabinet may be immediately removed through the following process:

    1. A motion shall be endorsed by two Members of the General Assembly or five percent of World Assembly citizens

    2. A majority of World Assembly and Military Voting citizens shall vote on whether to remove them in the following manner:

      1. World Assembly citizens shall be permitted to vote in a three-day poll

      2. Military Voting citizens shall be permitted to vote on the Regional Message Board in the same period
