[PROPOSAL] Voting Length Amendment




Referendum Proposal: Voting Length Amendment



The following proposal to amend the Constitution of the Republic of Thalassia (hereafter referred to as "the Constitution") has been authored and put to referendum by President Rockiberg.

Residents will have two days to discuss this proposal on the Regional Message Board, followed by three days for voting.

A proposal to amend the Constitution requires a 3/4 vote in favor at referendum in order to pass.


1. Article VII, Section 8 of the Constitution will be amended as follows:

8. Elections shall proceed as follows:
a. three two days for nominating and declaring candidacies;
b. four two days for campaigning;
c. three days for voting; and
d. three two days for run-off voting, if needed;
e. one day for tie-breaking voting, if needed.

2. Article VII, Section 9 of the Constitution will be amended as follows:

9. A mandatory two-day one-day discussion shall precede voting on any referendum.

3. Article VII, Section 10 of the Constitution will be amended as follows:

10. Voting for any referendum shall proceed for three two days.
