To the nations of the New West Indies,

After multiple occasions of strange voting practices, communication timestamps, and new information brought to the Secretary-General by the Secretary of State for Internal Affairs, with careful consideration, Farechia has been found guilty of election tampering and puppeteering. The evidence and sentencing are outlined below.

Evidence

Following alleged inactivity of the current General Assembly President at the time, Roussillon, PotaTown presented a motion of no confidence. During the voting period (beginning July 29th), the “for” vote was leading 20-17 with approximately 10-15 minutes remaining. However, within only a few minutes time, the nations of Ruslans, Soullsey, and Rechrustis all voted. Rechrustis, in particular, had ceased to exist prior to the election, and within 2 minutes of the voting period expiring, had refounded, reentered the New West Indies, and cast the vote. The Secretary-General, Karteria, was overseeing the vote and was online for the vote’s final minutes, being the reporter of this event. At the time, the Secretary-General ruled the Rechrustis vote invalid due to not being registered as a citizen before the vote concluded. It is generally dubious that Rechrustis would have been able to return to the region minutes before the final vote. However, more significant to this case is that the three nations all cast their votes at or around the same time as each other. While Soullsey and Rechrustis were said to be related by people close to the matter, Ruslans was an outlier.

In the Special election for General Assembly President on August 6th, the three nations again voted. It is unknown whether they did so in tandem, but the three nations had shown to be quite inactive before the impeachment vote. The fact that they came back at the exact time of voting yet again is cause for concern.

In the new election for General Assembly President on September 25th, the same three nations voted again, this time, in tandem. The suspicions of the Secretary-General remained high. Following investigative questioning of those close to the matter, Luraqau presented hard, physical evidence of Farechia’s computer, showing saved passwords of the accounts for Soullsey, Ruslans, and Rechrustis. After confirming that these passwords worked, coupled with previously-inexplicable circumstances occuring prior, it is safe to assume that Farechia maintained direct access to all three accounts. It was also confirmed that these were not Farechia’s original accounts but are real players, in which their passwords were somehow stolen.

Verdict

As stated above, Farechia has been charged with “election tampering” and “puppeteering.” While these are not legally-specified terms, they are labeled as such for simplicity. Additionally, the votes of all four nations – Farechia, Rechrustis, Soullsey, and Ruslans – will be invalidated for the ongoing GA Presidential election.

Farechia violated the following laws:

  • Section one of the Constitution

“Puppet nations are admitted to enter the region; however, they may neither participate in polls nor hold any executive office in the regional government.”

  • Section five of the Constitution

“Any vote cast by non-citizens or puppets must be invalidated and shall not influence the outcome of a poll.”

  • Section eight, clause g of the Constitution

“Nations are not allowed to post anything that is… threatening towards regional security.”

  • General Assembly Resolution #1

"Prohibits any player to keep more than one nation with citizenship status within the New West Indies."

While each law broken does not necessarily equate to an increase sentenced, the actions of the subject were holistically taken into account, as well as the damages. While not threatening to regional security in a traditional sense, the subject disrupted regional affairs, illegally influenced elections, and unequivocally damaged the sanctity of our spirit.

In light of these actions, Farechia is sentenced to a three-month ban from the region, beginning on September 27th, 2019 and ending on December 27th, 2019 (all times UTC). In this vein, coupled with losing all rights and privileges that come with citizenship, they will be permanently ineligible for office and prohibited from voting.
