◆ General Information

Máximo's monogram
Máximo I de Agramonte (born 6 August 1998), or Max I as he is mostly referred to by his people, is the Duke of Ruvonia. He ascended the throne on 21 November 2005 upon the assassination of his father Edgardo VI and his oldest brother Nicolas de Agramonte at the hands of Máximo's mother and Duchess of Ruvonia, Lucía Noboa (who later committed suicide) after Edgardo VI made public his intentions of divorcing her due to the recurring fights between them and the other members of the royal family.

At the time of ascending the throne he was only 7 years old and was now completely orphaned due to the death of his immediate family, which led to Felipe Noboa, his cousin and closest family member at that time, to assume the regency of the country and take care of the education of the young Duke. Due to this, Máximo developed a very close bond with Felipe, which has made him his right-hand man and confidant.

Due to the misfortune that has surrounded his family in recent years, his personality is somewhat cold, rarely expressing feelings for other people and staying quite distant from everyone. His reign has been characterised by austerity, a total intolerance to crime and the implementation of multiple popular reforms that have made him one of the most popular Dukes in the history of Ruvonia, despite being extremely reserved and hardly appearing at public events.

In accordance with the Ruvonian Constitution, Máximo has almost unlimited power over the government of the Duchy and also over the armed forces, as he is the commander-in-chief of the Ruvonian Armed Forces with military rank of Captain General. Máximo also plays the role of the supreme representation of Ruvonia in international relations.

◆ Early Life

Máximo I was born on 6 August 1998 at 9:38 AM at the Palacio Real del Buen Aire on the outskirts of the City of Purifiación. He was the younger brother of Nicolas de Agramonte, who was 14 years older than him. Both brothers had a very close relationship and they could be seen together practically all the time playing, talking or hanging out. Máximo was undoubtedly cared for and adored by Nicolas, who even took care of Máximo's tutelage and education for a long time given the busy life of their parents, the Duke Edgardo VI and the Duchess Lucía Noboa.

During the first years of his life he had a relatively normal life for someone of Ruvonia's royalty, being one of the most lively and curious people in the halls of the Palacio del Buen Aire. That curiosity could also be seen in his studies, since he was undoubtedly one of the best and most intelligent students of his class at the San Clemente school, a very prestigious educational institution that very few people in the Duchy can attend due to its high cost and its great exclusivity.

When the young Máximo was only 6 years old, his family slowly began to destabilise, with recurring quarrels between the Duke and Duchess over their life together, State affairs, and Ruvonia's future. The discussions between the two reached such a point that the Duchess moved from the Palacio Real del Buen Aire to the Casona del Rosedal, taking the young Máximo with her, while Nicolas stayed with his father. This separation was very hard for Máximo, with many members of the Casona service reporting that many times he was sad and overwhelmed by the lack of his brother.

The situation did not improve over time, with multiple rumours that the Duke would divorce the Duchess, which became a reality in October 2005, when Edgardo VI announced that he was formally divorcing Lucia. This made the Duchess mad, who quickly devised a plan to kill her husband, poisoning him during a family business dinner on 21 November 2005. However, the duchess's did not go as she planned, and she also poisoned the food of her son Nicolas, which led to his death a few hours after the Duke's death at the Santo Tomás Hospital in the city of Purificación that same day. Before facing justice, the Duchess preferred to end her own life with a shot in the head two days later in her room in the Casona del Rosedal while she was guarded by members of the Royal Guard.

As expected, the death of his beloved brother and his two parents deeply affected Máximo, who dropped out of school and spent almost a full year confined within the Palacio del Buen Aire, to which he moved a few days after the death of his mother, barely having contact with other people. Along with him, his cousin Felipe Noboa also moved, with whom he had a strong friendship and who became his regent and caretaker until he reached the age of majority.

With Felipe's help, the new young Duke began to rebuild his life, going back to school and slowly learning how to become a strong leader for Ruvonia.

◆ Education

After resuming his studies at the San Clemente school and graduating at the age of 12 in 2010, he enlisted in the Naval School, in which he participated in numerous trainings and operations during a year, in which he fell in love with the sea, going on to This is one of his greatest hobbies even to this day. To prepare for his role as the head of state, Máximo followed a broad program of studies on the court system, social organisations and institutions, trade unions, and employers' associations. In addition, he closely studied the affairs of the Cortes Reales (Ruvonia's Royal Advisory), Government, and Royal Court for Foreign Affairs.

At the same time, in 2016, the year in which he officially began to exercise his position as head of state, he began his studies at the Royal University of Purifiación in the area of chemistry, which always appealed to him greatly. He obtained his chemical degree 4 years later graduating with honours and almost perfect qualifications. Currently he is studying in his spare time courses in History, Philosophy, Sociology, Political Science and Economics.

◆ Reign

The first years of Máximo's reign were in charge of Felipe Noboa, his Regent, who kept the country in a status quo at the same time that he tried to profile young Máximo as a strong leader and worthy of Ruvonia, since with all the controversial events surrounding the royal family, many in Ruvonia began to question the need for a royal family and began to raise the possibility of establishing a Republic in the country.

However, Máximo, aware that royalty was in danger, took a different path from his regent, proposing various political and social reforms in the country to increase his popularity and transform Ruvonia into a country more related to his own thoughts. Among these decisions are the legalisation of gay marriage, an increase in civil rights in general and the introduction of the first popular elections of the Cortes Reales, although he did not remove any power from himself, on the contrary, he managed to strengthen his power on the decisions made in the country by eliminating the discontent of its citizens by giving them a false sense of power by letting them choose the royal advisers and other meaningless positions.

During his government, the penalties for various crimes were also greatly increased and public spending on security and education increased, although it was reduced in other aspects such as welfare, which Máximo considers as useless and unjust given that, according to him, it encourages laziness and a conformist model, where people could be disencouraged from pursuing a better life for fearing loosing the support of the government.

His reign was also characterised for a strong improvement in the country's public education services, awarding them one of the highest budgets in the region, which allowed the construction of new schools and the expansion of the facilities of the Real Universidad de Purificación, which allowed the country to be a pioneer in some fields of knowledge.

Máximo's popularity is among the highest in history and his support seems to be on the rise, given his slow opening towards a more democratic system and ensuring the security and prosperity of the country. He also enjoys a relative international fame and popularity, with his life being closely followed by various international media seeking to know what the life of the Ruvonian Monarch is like.
