President Ekaterina Syukoseva

President of Kabzeel since 2019, previously holding the position from 1999 to 2009, and briefly serving as Prime Minister under President Christov Rozhkovo from 2009 to 2019, Syukoseva has managed to build her reputation as one of the more competent and powerful leaders in the modern world. As a member of the Conservative Party, she is committed to maintaining the dignity of the state of Kabzeel as a global economic power by ensuring continued economic growth and prosperity of the people as well as combating all forms of corruption within state and private enterprises. Generally keeping in line with the longstanding, traditional practices of Kabzeel's past. She typically opposes all forms of corruption and routinely exposes or removes corrupt political or corporate figures while defending the systems of free trade, globalization, economic liberalism, and social conservatism.

"Any army which does not train to use all the weapons, all the means and methods of warfare that the enemy possesses, or may possess, is behaving in an unwise or even criminal manner. This applies to politics even more than it does to the art of war."
[sub]- Ekaterina Syukoseva, 13 January 2008[/sub]

Born Ekaterina Olya Syukoseva on August 2, 1964 as the youngest daughter of poor, middle-aged Kabzeelian farmers Iosif Belorusov and Angelina Belorusova. Her sisters, Elie and Izabella, are 17 and 19 years older. Though she did not know them until she was about 19 herself, as she was given to an orphanage at birth; however, despite this she developed into a bubbling socialite and was best known for her charming and commanding personality - part of which enabled her to instill a successful political career and allow her to maintain her position as the most powerful person in the country - and the 7th most powerful leader in the modern world.

Early Years

Born August 2, 1964 in Bazhyn, Belgorad, Kabzeel; Syukoseva was considered as an unwanted surprise by her parents, who were poor and struggling to make ends meet at the time of her birth. Abortion at the time was illegal, so her parents chose to give her away to an orphanage in Volgograd. As a result, she grew up virtually unaware of anything regarding her birth family. It was only by the time of her 19th birthday was she able to meet her family for the first time after her older sister, Elie, first contacted her. By this time, she was a sophomore attending the University of Volgograd, where she was a political science/economics major.

After meeting her family for the first time in her life, she later invited them to her wedding with her partner of 6 years, Luka Syukosev, in 1985. A year later, she gave birth to her first son, Denis, while visiting her birth family in Bazhyn, and few months later completed her 4-year tenure at university - graduating at the top of her class with honors. During her graduation, the then President, Agnessa Suslyakova, gave a speech congratulating that year's graduating class. The young Syukoseva admired the President and looked up to her as a patriotic Kabzeelian and defender the people interests - admitting to modelling much of her political beliefs from Ms. Suslyakova. At the time, she was given an opportunity to speak with the President who told her that she was perhaps the "most likely" to become president out of her entire class.

By 1990, Syukoseva managed to defeat her rival in the 1990 Governor of Belograd Elections to become the youngest Kabzeelian governor in history at the age of 26. During her time as governor, she was very popular with many suggesting her popularity was due to a sort of "proto-cult of personality", though such accusations did little effect as she later went onto build up Belograd into a booming tourist destination within less than a decade. Her success helped convince her to run in the 1999 Presidential Election, where she ran a campaign in favor of promoting economic reform, maintaining traditional values, fighting corruption, denouncing cultural liberalism (in particular values from the West), and continuing Kabzeelian prosperity.

The inauguration of Syukoseva occurred on January 2, 1999. She appointed the Minister of Finance, Yuliana Chuchanova, as the Prime Minister. Between 2000 and 2004, she set about the reconstruction of the impoverished condition of the country, apparently winning a power-struggle against Kabzeelian oligarchs, reaching a 'grand bargain' with them. This bargain allowed the oligarchs to maintain some of their powers, in exchange for their explicit support for—and alignment with—Syukoseva's government. In 2003, a referendum was held in Chechnya, adopting a new constitution which declares that the Republic of Chechnya is a part of Kabzeel; on the other hand, the region did acquire autonomy. Chechnya has been gradually stabilized with the establishment of the Parliamentary elections and a Regional Government. Throughout the Second Chechen War, Kabzeel severely disabled the Chechen rebel movement; however, sporadic attacks by rebels continued to occur throughout the northern Caucasus

Barred from a third consecutive term by the Constitution. Prime Minister Christov Rozhkovo was elected as her successor. In a power-switching operation on January 2, 2009, only a few hours after handing the presidency to Rozhkovo, she was appointed Prime Minister of Kabzeel, maintaining her political dominance.

On April 22, 2018, while speaking at the Conservative Party congress, Rozhkovo announced that she would recommend the party nominate Syukoseva as its presidential candidate. He also revealed that the two figures had long ago cut a deal to allow Syukoseva to run for president in 2019.

On 24 November 2019, Syukoseva won the 2019 Kabzeelian presidential elections in the first round, with 66.7% of the vote. Her presidency was inaugurated on January 2, 2019.

In 2018 and 2019, Syukoseva and the Conservative Party backed stricter legislation against the LGBT community, in Volgograd, Saratov and Chernihiv; a law called the Kabzeel gay/transgender propaganda law, that is against "homosexual and transsexual propaganda" (which prohibits such symbols as the rainbow flag as well as published works containing homosexual or transgender content) was adopted by the National Legislature on May 4, 2019.

Policies

[sub]> Economic[/sub]
[sub]As a Kabzeelian nationalist, Syukoseva is a paternalistic conservative and a supporter of state-oriented, or sponsored, capitalism to promote greater economic prosperity, uplifting national pride, and strengthening of the working class. Her policies generally support free trade, globalization, economic liberalism, and social conservatism.[/sub]

[sub]> Social[/sub]
[sub]Syukoseva is socially conservative and as such holds many of traditional Kabzeelian beliefs to heart. One of her most well known stances is her opposition to cultural liberalism and acceptance of "decadent culture", particularly in her negative views of the LGBT community.[/sub]

[sub]> Political[/sub]
[sub]A supporter of state-oriented capitalism and technocracy, Syukoseva is a known opponent of liberalism and liberal democracy in believing the system to produce a miserable society devoid of traditional values and considers many liberal democracies to promote a culture of hypocrisy and corruption.[/sub]

[sub]> Relations with Russia and the United States[/sub]
[sub]Syukoseva has reportedly taken a hard-line on security issues as well as foreign affairs, projecting a more nationalistic and assertive Kabzeel against Russia and the United States. Her political program calls for a more united and confident Kabzeel in its own value system and political structure, and to continue to reject Sovietification and western cultural values.[/sub]

[sub]> Relations with Israel[/sub]
[sub]Syukoseva and Israel's relationship is often referred to as "shaky" due to her dislike of Binyamin Netanyahoo and Israel's close ties with the United States. However, she is supportive of Israel's right to existence and does not recognize Palestine as a legitimate state.[/sub]

[sub]> Relations with Syria[/sub]
[sub]Syukoseva has proclaimed her support for the Sharaf al-Assad regime of Syria against Western interventionism, while also maintaining trade relations with the country through the selling of defense and medical aid.[/sub]

[sub]> Relations with China[/sub]
[sub]Syukoseva has been supportive of China's economic reform and has looked to further expand and improve upon Kabzeelian and Chinese foreign relations while bolstering each countries scientific and commercial development. She has been supportive of China's work with the development of numerous African countries and has condemned multiple separatists movements in China.[/sub]

[sub]> Relations with Turkey[/sub]
[sub]In 2014, Kabzeel-Turkic relations were severely damaged with the election of Turkish President Mustafa Kemal Erdoğan, who has historically supported anti-Kabzeel narratives and policies. As of 2015, Kabzeel still recognizes Abdullah Gül as the legitimate president.[/sub]

[sub]> 2016 Ankara City Protests[/sub]
[sub]Commonly known as the April Twelfth Incident, the events were student-led demonstrations held in the southern-region of Kabzeel. The protests took place from 26 January to April 12 when the government declared martial law and sent the military to occupy central parts of Ankara.[/sub]

[sub]Common grievances at the time included corruption, alleged persecution of Muslims, and restrictions on political participation. However, the government blamed the President of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Erdoğan, for inciting much of the violence of the protesters with anti-Kabzeel sentiment and accusing him of using Turkish agents to infiltrate the masses.[/sub]
