Assassins
What is the the Assassins?
Assassins is a game that is played on our Regional Discord Server. The game requires a minimum of 5 players to play and has no maximum amount of players. Typically, the game is played over several days but can go much faster if players are active enough.
How to Play
At the beginning of each game, the Game Host (who does not participate in the game for the sake of fairness), will gather a group of players together. Everyone in the game is an Assassin, and each day lasts for 24 hours, give or take according to the Game Host's ability to end/start. At the beginning of each day, the Game Host will randomly assign each Assassin a person for them to target (another Assassin), and nobody will know who is hunting who, except who they themselves are hunting, meaning any other player in the game could be the one out to Assassinate you.
To Assassinate, players must stalk each other across the Discord server, waiting for their target to post. To Assassinate your target, you must post immediately after them with your killing message, which may kill them in whatever way you so choose. (For example, Duck posts after Rat, with the killing message "After being run over by a run-away bear in a go-cart, Rat is dead.") Killing posts may not be edited, period, and doing so will automatically disqualify the kill. If you make the post without your killing message, then you will have to wait and try again. If someone else manages to post before you and interrupts your kill, you may not delete your killing post. It becomes a failed kill, and your target thus aware of the fact you are the one targeting them. Deleting failed kills will result in immediate disqualification, and a history of doing so will result in being banned from the game. Likewise, if someone posts a killing message which hits you, you may not delete your post to avoid it. Doing so will carry the same punishment as deleting the killing post.
At the beginning of the next day, a list of who has survived and who has been killed (as well as who killed them) is published, all previous targets are canceled, and surviving players continue on to the next day. where they are issued brand new targets. In the unlikely event that a day manages to progress to a point that the only players remaining are the ones who have already killed their targets, meaning that no players with targets remain, the next day may begin immediately. The game will continue to advance through days until only a single player remains, with that player being declared the victor. However, in the event the game boils down to two players remaining, the next day shall become the "Final Day", in which these two players will attempt to kill each other. If the day ends with both players still alive, then whichever one has the higher kill score throughout the game will be declared the victor.
Players will be required to make a minimum amount of posts each day, and players who do not meet the requirement will be disqualified. Stacked posts will be counted as a single post. Posts which pre-date the beginning of a day may not be targeted for killing players. Bot posts will not protect a player from being killed. Posts made within an official capacity, as part of a member's official duties, may not be targeted. As a result of this protection, these posts will not count towards the required activity. It is perfectly acceptable for Assassins to work together, but be wary that their target may, in fact, be you. Collaboration with non-players is likewise fine, but be wary they may choose to sell you out, or already be working with another Assassin (who could very well be hunting you.) Do not post screenshots that prove who your target is - though also be mindful if someone does this, that screenshots are quite easy to doctor on Discord, and should not be trusted anyways.
Assassins Games are referred to as Arcs, such as "The First Arc", "The Second Arc", so on and so forth.
What is the the Resistance?
The Resistance is a game played on Discord, requiring a minimum of 5 players to be played. The game is played over five missions, with a varying number of players on each mission dependent on how many players are in the game.
How to Play
Players are placed into one of two groups, either the resistance or the Spies. Resistance members must try to determine which players are the Spies and keep them off missions to ensure a victory for the Resistance. Spies must work together to avoid getting caught by the Resistance and ensuring the Resistance is destroyed.
At the beginning of each game, the Game Host (who is not a part of the game and does not count towards the total number of players) will send out messages to the players of the game, letting them know if they are a spy or a member of the Resistance.
Once the Spies and Resistance members have been selected, the Game Host will pick the first team leader, who will then pick people to go on the first mission. Here, all players of the game will publicly vote whether or not to allow the team to proceed forward. If the majority votes in favor of it, the team passes, if not, the team fails and a new team leader is selected. If five teams in a row are failed, the spies will automatically win.
If the team passes, then the members of that team will then message the Game Host privately, saying their vote to Pass or Fail the mission. Members of the Resistance may only vote for Pass, while Spies may vote for either.
If a spy is on the team and votes for it to fail, it is a victory for the Spies. If there is no spy on the team or the spy votes to pass, the mission is a victory for the Resistance. If the Spies achieve three victories, they win the game. If the Resistance achieve three victories, they win the game.
Team leaders will be selected by the Game Host until every member has had a chance to lead (or until the game ends, whichever comes first), the cycle will then repeat.
Do not post screenshots to prove which team the Game Host has assigned you to.
