The modern United Kingdom is widely known as one of Europe’s great powers, despite the loss of its empire. It is known to have a friendly rivalry with the Intermarium and the Kingdom of France, but continued bureaucracy in Europe has led to frustrations festering within the UK, directed towards the European Union and its leadership in Brussels. Aside from Europe, the UK continues to be a significant presence in Oceania, Africa and the Middle East with its multitude of foreign territories and close alliances with its Commonwealth realms.

In recent decades, the balance of power in Mundus has shifted. A rising Republic of China and growing nationalism in Muscovy challenges Euro-Louisianan hegemony, Islamic terrorism and the Refugee Crises fuel far-right nationalism and xenophobic sentiments in the West, and the whole world has come under threat from climate change and ignorance of science. However, Britannia remains stalwart in the face of these dangers, and in solidarity with the Commonwealth of Nations and European Union, the sun shall shan’t set on this United Kingdom.
