Aprosian Revolutionary Armed Forces

The Aprosian Revolutionary Armed Forces, commonly referred to as the Aprosian Red Army, are the armed forces of the Aprosian People's Democratic Union responsible for the defence of the nation. The Revolutionary Armed Forces consist of the Aprosian Revolutionary Army, responsible for the defence of the national borders, and the Revolutionary Corps, responsible for the protection of the Aprosian socialist system of governance and maintaining internal stability.

The Revolutionary Armed Forces were established in 1973 amidst the Aprosian Civil War in order to integrate the different regional militias into a single organized fighting force. Throughout the war the armed forces included largely independent local militias and a newly created conscript army, both lacking modern equipment. The end of the war though started a period of militarisation and the command structure, equipment and tactics of the armed forces were modernized in an attempt to create a capable fighting force. Through assistance from regional and international allies, these attempts led to the Revolutionary Armed Forces to become one of the largest armed forces in the region with with a wide operational range and capability.

Throughout its history, the Revolutionary Armed Forces took part in both major and minor conflicts, including the Aprosian Civil War, the Sadievi conflict and the Second Imperial War, where the Revolutionary Armed Forces demonstrated its capability of fighting a modern war, although being eventually defeated by the MSTO-forces, causing the Revolutionary Armed Forces to suffer considerable damages to the Revolutionary Army-wing.
