Ridgefield Roleplay Standards Memo

Ladies and Gentlemen of Ridgefield,

if you don't already know who I am; I am Q, of Nueva rico, the Cultural Curator of Ridgefield. it's my job here in the region to work on inciting activity, creating games, and heralding new events for the region from the sidelines. While the region may seem slow at times, it has been a chief principle of mine to prioritize quality content over any content at all. With the start of a factions roleplay, many participants had their own ideas in mind for how the conflict should go, without talking to peers and trying to make something that was generally fun and cohesive, and that was a shame. The quality of RP quickly degraded into a mess of unthoughtful war and unnecessary treaties.

So, to prevent that from here on, I am going to be enforcing our RMB quality standard - as outlined in the Appearance Policy of our Statutory Code - vehemently and that means suppressing posts which the Council deems generally subpar basic quality standards. However, let me make it acutely clear that this is for the good of the region, and all posts will only be suppressed as to help individuals better their RP skills either in the Corner Pub on discord, or via telegram. If you are not particularly good at writing and are worried, don't be, this will primarily target posts that are incoherent or detached from consensus.

Moreover, to make the transition a bit easier, the upcoming Historical Convention will be a semi-open-ended RP style in which nations will have creative liberty to go off on tangents, tell stories, and share cool facts about their history, without worrying too much about continuity.

I hope you all understand where I am coming from, and hope to see you in this week's convention!

"My mom said history is cool!"

The First Annual Historical Convention

Fueled by the recent trivia fad plaguing established world leaders, the first ever Meritocratic League Historical Convention will be hosted by Antarcticao to commemorate the reinstatement of their First Empire.

The Convention will formally take place from Thursday, April 4th, until Sunday, April 14th. Important discussion and points of interest will be documented and archived as part of a revamped historian standard.

All leaders and representatives of nations in the Meritocratic League, and of allied nations alike, are welcome to join the summit and share factbooks, relics, or stories of their own national history. Each day discussion will be led by the host, who will present a topic of interest for participants, and at the conclusion of the day's events, will also present the topic for tomorrow so participants can prepare national research, if they wish.

Some Topics of Interest may include:

  • Technological Advancements

  • Cultural Revolutions

  • Political Protests

  • Coups and Upheavals

  • and much, much more!

Don't miss out! Be there or be square!
