The Revolution Triumphant: Likes civilizations that use the same government as her, and will actively seek out friendships and alliances with them. Dislikes civilizations with different governments. Hates civilizations with different governments on her home continent.
Socialist Urbanism: Likes civilizations with lots of high-adjacency Districts. Dislikes civilizations with many low-adjacency Districts.
Greeting: Hello and hola, I am Alejandría Xóchitl, First Consul of the North American Revolutionary Council and Generalissimo of the Peoples' Revolutionary Army, and I greet you on behalf of the federation. Tell me, where do you stand in the fight for liberty and equality?
Sends Delegation: We have sent a trade delegation to your capital with street tacos, a jazz band, a hand-carved Baseball bat, and, of course, a collection of revolutionary literature.
Accepts Delegation: Thank you! I look forward to discussing revolutionary ideals with your delegates.
Refuses Delegation: We would prefer not to at the moment.
Requests Friendship: The federation seeks allies in the fight against oppression. Do you wish to become one of them?
Accepts Friendship: I can see that you are a friend to liberty; and I am happy to accept.
Declines Friendship: The federation still has its concerns about you. Maybe another time?
It is an honor to meet you: Since you're nearby, why don't you visit one of our cities and observe a society that puts the needs of the people first?
It is an honor to meet you: We should exchange information on our capital cities, for the good of my people and yours.
Agenda-based Approval: It warms my heart to see another nation as committed to the liberation of the masses as our own.
Agenda-based Disapproval: The fight for liberty and equality is an undoubtedly righteous one, yet you instead chose to oppress your own people! Perhaps it would be best if they put an end to your oppressive rule.
Attacked: This will be the end of your imperialist ambitions, the federation will not yield as easily as you expect!
Declares War: We didn't wish for war, but you have left us with no choice. The Revolutionary Army will now put a swift end to your cruel regime.
Defeated: You may have conquered our territory, but you will never break our spirits! The North American people will never accept your rule.
Denunciation: Your rule is needlessly cruel and unjust, and you cannot oppress your people for much longer. That, I will make sure of.
Denounced: I expected this. The federation doesn't respect the words of imperialists and oppressors such as yourself.

North American Phonetic English
North American Phonetic English (Nōerth Ęmērikn Fnétik Īnglish) is a variation of written English used heavily in North America. It began its life on October 3rd, 2033, when the Congress of Soviets voted to provide funding for a program aiming to reform English spelling to be wholly phonetic. After the Revolutionary War, the federation had run into a previously unforeseen issue: although the majority of it's population spoke English, a very significant minority exclusively spoke Spanish and/or various native languages; a problem which was exasperated by the nation's commitment to direct democracy. So, NƏFÎ́ was devised as a way to make English literacy much more easily accessible to non-anglophone groups. On January 5th, 2034, several potential spelling reforms were submitted for consideration, with one proposed by a man named Wyatt Stevenson being selected. From there, the federation began the process of slowly implementing the spelling reform throughout the continent. It was taught alongside traditional English in schools, and became the primary language used in English-language government documents. Today, NAPE/NƏFÎ́ is used far more widely than traditional English, especially in more developed territories of the federation.
NƏFÎ́ has had an enormous impact on the Anglosphere as a whole; all other anglophone IASN member-states have passed similar reforms, and the idea of spelling reform has gained considerable traction even outside the IASN. On February 20th, 2069, the Australian parliament narrowly voted against a proposal to create a spelling reform of their own. Scots has also received a similar - albeit far less drastic - spelling reform, which was heavily inspired by NƏFÎ́. The reformed Scots system has seen the introduction of acutes to indicate emphasis, and many other, more minor changes.
NƏFÎ́ uses a 32-letter alphabet, 7 vowels and 25 consonants. In addition, there are 4 diacritics - acutes, circumflexes, strokes and diaereses - which can be applied to vowels, and some consonants can have graves and/or acutes placed over them. When a consonant has both an acute and a grave above it, they are combined into a caron.
Alphabet: Aa Bb Cc Ææ Dd Ðð Ee Ff Gg Hh Ii Jj Ll Mm Nn Ꝿꝿ Oo Pp Rr Ss Tt Uu Vv Ww Xx Yy Zz
Vowels With Diacritics: Áá Āā Ââ Ấấ Ǽǽ Æ̈æ̈ Æ̈́æ̈́ Ēē Éé Ęę Ëë Êê Ë́ë́ Ếế Íí Īī Ïï Îî Ḯḯ Î́î́ Ɨɨ Ə́ə́ Ōō Óó Öö Ôô Ö́ö́ Ốố Úú Ųų Üü Ǘǘ Ʉʉ
Consonants With Diacritics: Ṕṕ Ǵǵ T́t́ D́d́ R̀r̀ Řř Ǹǹ Ňň L̀l̀ Ľľ
Acutes over vowels, liquids, and
nasal consonants indicate that the sound is elongated, while acutes over voiceless consonants indicate various stops. Diaereses and circumflexes over vowels indicate various changes in pronunciation. Graves placed over consonants indicate a short
syllabic consonant, while a caron over a consonant indicates an elongated syllabic consonant.
As North America is home to numerous distinct English dialects, NUFÎ́ spelling can naturally change - sometimes drastically - depending on geography. In order to mitigate the issues caused by this, a standardized dialect has been created for the purposes of official documents, national media, literature, etc. This standardized dialect is designed to be as easily legible to as many anglophone North Americans as is humanly possible. Unless otherwise stated, all NUFÎ́ text in this factbook can and should be assumed to be in the standardized dialect.

National Symbols of North America
The Flag
The North American flag is easily the most recognizable symbol of the federation. The flag was designed in mid 2028 in a competition to create an official flag, and beat the Red-starred flag - which had been the federation's de facto national flag up until then - by a narrow margin (53.2% of the final vote). The red symbolizes socialism, the gold symbolizes (Mutually owned) wealth, and the blue symbolizes peace. The five stars on in the left bar symbolize the five-year-long revolutionary war, while their position on the flag symbolizes that the war shall lead to progress. The eight five-pointed stars in the emblem all stand for different values on which the federation is founded: LGBTQIA+ liberation, indigenous liberation, anti-colonialism/imperialism, environmentalism, workers' rights, liberty, feminism, and minority rights; and the eight-pointed star in the middle symbolizes socialism, and that these causes are all connected directly to the socialist struggle.
Bison
The national animal of North America, the bison is an important symbol to the federation. Not only is the bison historically and culturally important to much of the continent, but it also symbolizes the resurgence of the communist movement, much like how the bison was brought back from the brink of extinction. Bison are also commonly used as a personification of North America, especially by political cartoonists.
Lady Liberty
Although initially a symbol of the United States, the toga-clad woman depicted by the iconic Statue of Liberty has now come to be a symbol of socialism, and is used to personify the federation almost as often as the bison.
