Detag Guide

  • Dismiss any raider regional officers, and appoint any native regional officers dismissed by raiders. You must do this step as delegate. If you prefer, you can appoint yourself as a regional officer and return to the other steps later, but make sure you handle any necessary regional officer changes first.

  • If applicable, change the governor name to Governor. You must also do this step while delegate. If the option to change the governor doesn't show up due to governor having ceased to exist, add "/page=regional_officer/region=region_name/office=governor/" in the url after nationstates.net and replace region_name with the name of the region you are detagging.

  • Withdraw or close any embassies constructed, under construction, or requested with raider regions.

  • If the raiders withdrew any of the region’s previous embassies, cancel the withdrawal.

  • Remove any tags added by raiders and restore any native tags removed by raiders.

  • If raiders suppressed any messages on the RMB, unsuppress them. If they made any posts on the RMB, suppress them.

  • Find the most recent flag and banner (see below) that isn’t a raider flag, and replace the raider flag and banner. Sometimes the only images on the archive are raider flags and banners. Check with an officer if you aren’t sure if something is raider iconography or not. Alternatively, simply abolish the flag.

  • Find the most recent WFE (see below) that isn’t advertising a raider region, and replace the raider WFE with it. It’s usually very easy to tell what’s a raider WFE and what isn’t. However, sometimes no results will come up for the region you are detagging. You can replace the raider WFE with something simple like “Welcome to [region name].” Please check the resources given first, and only create your own WFE as a last resort.

Resources

LinkEyebeast - For more recent raids/regions, the Eyebeast, designed by fellow defender Refuge Isle contains updated flag and WFE information. To access a region’s information, simply search the name of the region from the Eyebeast search bar.

LinkWFE index - This nearly always has the original WFE, but only began tracking regions in 2018 so if the region you're detagging was made before then and the index does not have a non-raider WFE, you may want to try the link below.

LinkOld WFE index - This is a good resource if the above doesn't work. This was the original index and goes back a very long time, but was no longer updated after 2018. Good for finding very old WFEs.

LinkFlag index - same as above.

LinkGoogle Cache - try searching for "site:region=[insert region here]"
