Dizgovzy
The United Kingdom of Dizgovzy, commonly called Dizgovzy, is a Constitutional Federal Monarchy in the Eastern Black Sea. To its north is Crimea and the Caucasus region of Russia and to its south are Turkey and Georgia. Dizgovzy covers 19902 km˛ square kilometers and has has an estimated population of 2.543.929. Dizgovzy comprises of 49 regions.
Dizgovzy is known for engaging in positive relations with nearly every Nation States country- except for the now-ceased-to-exist Free Lands of Russian Dizgovzy. As a member of Europe and ESTO, Dizgovzy is one of the more active members of Nationstates. Its closest allies are St Scarlett, Laver Island, Krestonien, Suomessa, The Poland-Lithuania Commonwealth, The mongol plain, Rivierenland, and the other nations of ESTO. For a full list of Dizgovzian international relations, see here.
The origin of the name Dizgovzy is from the Dizgovi river, flowing from the centre of the country to the northern side of the island.
The standard way to refer to a citizen of Dizgovzy is a “Dizgovzian" unless the person is not ethnically Dizgovzian. Many people with Dizgovzian blood who grew up speaking Russian under the Soviet Union and the post-Soviet years still consider themselves Russian. As well, the Greco-Latin community and those involved in the leadership of the now powerless Roman Catholic church will refer to themselves as Latin.

There is no official religion of Dizgovzy. Until the administration of Lisja Vinitharius, Roman Catholicism was the state-supported religion of the United Kingdom of Dizgovzy. Under the Soviet Union, there was no state supported religion but the number of Orthodox practitioners increased. Under the Russian Empire, Orthodoxy was enforced with the Catholic communities forced to practice in secret. Roman Catholicism was again official under the Second Dizgovzian Kingdom, and was allowed to be practiced during the Ottoman occupation. The First Dizgovzian Kingdom supported both Catholicism and Greek Orthodoxy, although the populace was mostly Catholic. Under Byzantium, Orthodoxy was enforced. While part of the Roman Empire, Catholicism was introduced and quickly overtook the Roman pantheon. The ancient Dizgovzian pantheon was practiced for at least a few thousand years prior to the conquest by Rome.
As it stands today, Roman Catholicism and Russian Orthodoxy are the main faiths, with a growing non-religious section and a stable pre-WWII Jewish minority. Islam has little to no influence in Dizgovzy mostly due to policies under the Norosky government and the general cultural distrust of Dizgovzians towards Muslims.

Race
There are three main ethnic groups in Dizgovzy. The oldest still defined group is the Greco-Latin community, which makes up about 22% of the population. They are the direct descendants of the Roman and Byzantine settlers on the island, who intermingled with and replaced the ancient Anikovs of the island. The Anikovs were an Indo-European group distantly related to the Armenians and Hittites. They spoke Ancient Anikovan, a IE language isolate which was fully replaced by Latin by about 400 CE, when the majority of Anikovs switched from the Dizgovzian or Roman pantheon to Roman Catholicism. Upon the formation of the Byzantine Empire, many Greeks intermarried with the Anikov-Latin population. Until the Gothic invasion, the majority of the population was either Anikov-Greco-Latin, or just Anikov. After the Gothic (Dizgovzian) invasions, the Dizgovzians were the main ethnic group. By the time of the Russian Empire, the Anikovs had assimilated and merged into the Greco-Latin community, or into the Dizgovzian. The Russian immigration during the empire and Soviet Union was largely in a refugee fashion, as there was no serfdom in Dizgovzy nor massive state farms under the Soviets.
