Seythennia City Herald - March 9, 2019: Seythennian Reformation Continues

The ongoing Seythennian Reformation, the reorganizing of the country from a constitutional republic into an absolute monarchy, continues as ruler Randall Johnson has officially ended the "interim Protectorate" and announced that Seythennia is to be now known as a grand kingdom, ruled by a Grand King, intended to carry a connotation of being greater than a king, similar to the title "King of Kings", as a reference to the Union Treaties where Seythennia annexed the Principality of Marcolen and the Kingdom of New Marigeda. Johnson has taken the regnal name Castor I, renamed the capital from São Vicente to St. Vincent, and changed the motto to "For the Grand King".

Grand King Castor I has also made changes to governmental positions at the highest level: the position of Chief Premier, formerly the nation's second-highest, has been superseded by the new position of Archduke, which is that of the leader of the constituent country of Seythennia, which has accordingly be made an archduchy, and by law always held by whoever is next in line for the throne. The line of succession has been made hereditary, favoring male primogeniture, and the line of succession that was formerly in place has been struck null and void, and the Grand King's oldest son has been crowned Archduke Phillip I. The position of Chief Premier still holds near-absolute power at the discretion of the Grand King, while that of Archduke seems to be merely a formality. In addition, the Marcoler and Marigedese royal families have been reinstated, with the appropriate descendants having been crowned Prince Johann IX of Marcolen and King Thomas II of New Marigeda. Their lines of succession have been incorporated into that of the Grand King, with Prince Johann and King Thomas being treated as sons of Archduke Phillip.
