The HMR-1M (Hydra McAllister Co Rifle - 1st Generation Marksman is a Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) designed in a joint venture between Hydra Industries (Port Ember) and McAllister Co (The Chuck), and is manufactured by both companies in their respective nations.

Development started in early 2018, when a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Port Ember and The Chuck, promising closer co-operation on a military, economical and political level. Both nations immediately expressed their requirement for a modern Designated Marksman Rifle, and as an adherance to the newly Memorandum, the contract was awarded to Hydra Industries and
McAllister Co, as a joint venture.

The weapon passed military trails in both nations in early 2019 and subsequently pressed into service with both nations.

The Port Ember Security Services have given the weapon the designation of DMR-21, while The Armed Forces of The Chuck have designated it as the TCMR-65

Design details

Operating Mechanism

The rifle is a lightweight, air-cooled, magazine-fed, gas-operated semi automatic rifle that uses a piston within the bolt carrier with a rotary bolt locking mechanism. It uses a straight line recoil configuration. It is slotted to use 6.555mm (Creedmoor) rounds, specifically for its increased accuracy at longer ranges.

Features

The rifle features a adjustable collapsing stock, with four positions (Fully Collapsed; Extended 1; Extended 2; Fully Extended), which allows the user to optimise the firearm to their specific preference.

The special ergonomically molded pistol grip also features a non-slip surface to optimise accuracy. This unique feature was added due to the fact that during development, it was found that the user's hands becomes sweaty and slippery during extensive operations.

The Trigger Assembly consists out of the Trigger Guard and the Trigger itself. The Trigger Guard protects the trigger from accidental discharge due to interaction with the environment. The trigger is a Light Trigger with a 3.5 Pound pull power, once again optimising stability and accuracy. The firearm is equiped with a 2-Position Fire Selector: "S" for Safe and "R" for Repition. The "Safe" setting disables the trigger and secures the weapon from being charged. The selector is a small thumb switch on the pistol grip.

The firearm comes equiped with a Trijicon ACOG 4x32 Telescopic Sight. Furthermore, it features BUIS (Back-Up Iron Sights). The rear BUIP is a Flip-Up sight with 200m/500m/800m apertures. The Front BUIS is a flip up front post.

The firearm is fed by a 25 Round Detachable Box Magazine (6.555mm Creedmoor) placed in front of the pistol grip, loaded in a Staggered Formation.

The RAS (Rail Accessory System) allows the barrel to be Free Floating, and houses a simple yet ergonomical hand grip, and a adjustable Telescoping Legs Bipod.

The match-grade cut barrel is manufactured from 410 grade stainless steel, and due to the Rail Accessory System, turns it into a free floating barrel, once again optimising accuracy. The barrel front end is slotted with a flash surpressor, with a barrel thread, allowing a optional surpressor to be added.

The rifle's stock, pistol grip, body cover, magazine, and RAS is manufactured from a synthetic material, making it light weight. The only metal parts is the "internal working parts" and the barrel.

The rifle is fitted with a Picatinny rail for possible personal modifications.

Sights

The rifle is fitted with a Trijicon ACOG 4x32 Telescopic Sight.

Furthermore, it features BUIS (Back-Up Iron Sights). The rear BUIP is a Flip-Up sight with 200m/500m/800m apertures.

The Front BUIS is a flip up front post, which folds down when the Magnifying Sight is mounted. Due to its nature as a backup sight and flip mechanism, it does not host a traditional guard housing/shroud.
