Dormill and Stiura - Government, Democratic Party
Background and Ideology
Parti Démocratique (frequently abbreviated PD; translation: "Democratic Party"), is the youngest political party in the United Republics, tracing its origins to the #OccupyKapolder movement of 2012-13. The Democratic Party identifies itself as the most liberal party in the United Republics, and is staunchly feminist, environmentalist, among other various ideologies. It is considered the most radically anti-federalist party in the United Republics, constantly attacking the system as "a flawed patriarchal mess of a system that has failed Dormill and Stiura too many times already, and should be replaced".
More often than not, Democrats consider the Ahnslen Model as the best transitory stage between a federal and unitary state, and advocates for its further adoption in spite of Federalism. Naturally, they are directly opposed to Dormill and Stiura Forwards, with both seeing each other as faux-liberals that fail to have the right vision for the nation.
History
In 2012, at the height of the 2011-15 Recession, a group of disgruntled students, workers, and other anti-federalists came together in the organized #OccupyKapolder movement, which sought to put pressure on the businesses, government, and people of Kapolder and the wider United Republics for their perceived failure to address the economic situation. The movement started as a disorganized hastag movement that saw little initial success. However, it gained significant ground when a group of previously unknown Liberal Party politicians began to organize the protests, successfully pressuring the government of Kapolder to end the austerity measures it enacted alongside the rest of the United Republics.
Since then, the movement was further reorganized into the Democratic Party, with the stated aim to completely dismantle the federal system and to enact a more centralized and liberal administration to best serve the people. The most important event to recently happen was when former Minister of the Treasury, Philippine Lémieux, joined the party. Lémieux was considered the architect of the reconstruction of Dormill and Stiura's economy, and his presence gave the party exactly what was needed for it to become a dominant party in the political landscape of the nation.

2015
The Democratic Party first fielded candidates in the 2015 election, where they capitalized on the still stirring sentiments born from the #OccupyKapolder movement to propel them to a significant position in the Forum. They approached the Liberal Party soon thereafter on the matter of forming a coalition of their own to counter Forwards' dominance, though ultimately without a significant foothold in the legislatures of the individual Republics, was not in a position to negotiate for a leading position, instead being content with the position of the minor party.
