RP History of The DoU

The Roleplay history of The Dawn of Unity is rich in a variety of stories, characters and deep lore. This is a historical document, detailing each nation in The Dawn of Unity's roleplay environment. Our current timeline begins on November 12th, 1918. It is canonical with our modern timeline, with the exception of some retcon of nations involved that have since ceased to exist.

> Circa 1000 AD, there were 9 ethnic clans native to Japan. The Senian clan was the 2nd largest on the islands, only outnumbered by the Yamoto clan. The Yamoto would eventually become aggressive and expansionist under General Uji, Who called for a United Japan, or "Gonza" under Yamoto rule. This led them on a crusade against the other clans that did not bend to their whim, including the Senians. The Yamoto attempted an ethnic cleansing of the Senians, slaughtering many. Those Senians who remained escaped via the sea and settled in a small area in east china, being presided over by a council of high priests.

>A nation by the name of Dharmaghan has had control of the Indian subcontinent and enormous influence over central Asia for many years, but went under a radical change around 1926. Huge tensions between themselves and the Fairly young nation of Blitzakartz were at an all time high. (I won't go further cause I don't know how the narrative ends)

>Moving forward to the mid 1600's, European colonists had been fighting native Americans all across north and south America. The Spanish and Portuguese are largely successful in central and south America. The British, French and Germans are not as successful in the north, with France being almost entirely contained to modern day Acadia and Germany having next to no success part from a few settlements in modern day Argentina. The most successful in the north are the British, successfully setting up a large colony across the eastern seaboard of what is today United States of the Newland and a large colony dubbed "canada" which would later go on to become the nation of sougra.

The colonies in South America would later go on to fight a bloody revolutionary war for independence, with many becoming unified under the kingdom of Amazonaca.

>As the great war broke out in 1914, the empires of Europe were dead set on annihilating one another completely. Throughout the war, it seemed very much in the entente powers favour to win, but a disastrous campaign against the ottomans in Gallipoli sealed their fate. The central powers, or what was left of them, secured a victory by the very skin of their teeth. The central powers almost entirely crumbled following the war, with only Germany remaining as a viable state. A reformation of government took place with the region of Prussia seemingly in control. Thus began the Prussian Kaiserreich. This new Germany immediately worked or reconstruction and took advantage of the immense power vacuum caused by the Entente defeat. They immediately worked on establishing a global empire on somewhat unstable foundations.

The Entente also engaged in reformation with a Spaniard calling for an iron fisted, strong government to lead Europe into an age of prosperity, safe from the communists and Germans to their east, and the emerging powers in the Americas to their west. Through a long violent campaign, Blitzakartz emergered to the world stage. Highly nationalistic, the newly formed nation went on to bring their government style to many ex colonial territories, but only through their choice and promise of a higher standard of living, autonomy and security from outside aggression.

Seemingly unscathed from the bloodshed of the rest of Europe, a nation by the name of Sapmisgaard declared it's independence in 1924. Encompassing the Sapmi region in northern Scandinavia, its independence has been mostly recognised across the world apart from the Soviet union, who have stated sapmisgaard will never be recognised.

>In 1924, following many expeditions by differing nations, The Nebulous people revealed themselves as a native Antarctic people, and demanded to be recognised as a sovereign state, independent of outside influences. This sovreignty was first recognised by the young nation of Blitzakartz, Keen to show it's official presence in the world stage. This recognition was closely followed by The Sougran, Newlanders and German governments, with the Kingdom of Amazonaca eventually recognising as well, after a period of isolation. The Neboons as they preferred to be called quickly drafted a scientific research treaty stating that any nation is welcome to visit the Nebulous nation under the pretend that the Antartic is strictly neutral ground and no military applications may be brought to it's waters or mainland.

Nebulous Antarctica has also follows a relative neutrality legislation and allows any nations embroiled in hostilities to use its land as a neutral meeting point to discuss issues rather than fight.

•Native Coalition Conflict, 1924

Following attempts at expansion from the United States of the Newland, A coalition between first nations people's emerged to oppose the Newland forces. Initially, they were soundly swept away, allowing Newland to successfully gain Ohio and Kentucky as a part of its territory. Unbeknownst to the Newlanders however, was the fact that the Native coalition had appealed to the nation of Sougra and her German ally for aid. Fearing a power hungry neighbour, Sougra obliged in secret, funneling German made armaments including rifles, explosives and even state of the art tanks to the Natives in complete secrecy. This took the Newlanders by suprise and led to further conflict. After a limited interventio by the Blitz and further fighting, seemingly leading nowhere, Newland agreed to end their attempts at expansion westward and settled on a peace deal with the Native coalition, giving back the territories they had annexed.

•Japanese-Prusso war
1923-1924
Following attempts by the kingdom of Japan to annex certain regions of eastern China, the Chinese government called on their German allies for aid and allowed them to build German army bases within China. Seeing this as a form of aggressive behaviour, Japan subsequently declared the German empire their enemy and declared a state of war. The conflicts that followed were brought to a stalemate by Germany's superior military hardware and defensive advantage, sabotaging the ruthless Japanese onslaught. Japan attempted to garner international aid for its efforts and found it in the newly formed Blitzakartz. The then prime minister Francisco Marquez Alicante held deep anti German sentiments and saw this war as a way to simultaneously bring down German influence in the east and integrate some old colonial holdings into Blitzakartz. They set up an oriental army corps to aid the Japanese in China. The campaign ended in a decisive Japanese victory and Blitzakartz was granted permission to bring Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan into it's union without intervention from the now weak Chinese.

Many believe this was the first stage of a larger war between Germany and Japan when Japan attacked Hawaii unprovoked a few years later. Ironically, the death of Prime minister Marquez gave way to The new prime minister, Oswald Mosley who wished for an alliance between the Blitz and the Germans. As proof of a new era of partnership, Blitzakartz pledged it's support to the German campaign instead of the Japanese. The Germans were relentless in their initial stages of the war, using their far superior naval prowess to bombard Hawaii from the sea. Japan could do little to fight back against the onslaught of naval gunfire. Their land forces occupying the island were extremely diminished also because of the Blitz contribution to the war effort in the form of the world's very first special forces unit, the BSSB or Blitzakartz Special Service Brigade. They were successful in sabotaging artillery batteries, personnel camps and ammunition dumps, rendering their capabilities to fight back null and void. Combined with the German tactic of starving the Japanese out, Japan eventually surrendered and withdrew from the island marking an end to German-Japanese tensions.

2020

Following a crippling viral infection sweeping Edishki, the nation fell into absolute anarchy. A fanatical and radicalized sect of Senism asserted dominance in the kingdom, stating the virus was a sign from Aszina as "The end times". What followed was a brutal civil war with the radical senists in total command of most of the nation's military hardware. Using this, they attempted to strike the otherian peninsula with a large fleet of destroyers. With help from the Prussian Kaiserreich, the Otherian navy successfully repelled this attack. Outraged, the leaders of the senists attempted to gain naval and air superiority against the Otherians through the use of air carriers. This was largely unsuccessful as many of the experienced Edishkian pilots at the time were arrested or killed by the senists or killed by the virus.

Following these unsuccessful campaigns, the senists were rapidly losing their hold on the nation. With the leader of Edishki's whereabouts unknown, loyalist forces set up their HQ on the island of Hokkaido. The senists saw this as an opportunity to consolidate their power and eliminate the remnants of Edishkian power once and for all. After successfully taking the majority of the island, they threatened to detonate a nuclear device in an unknown location if Ishki did not reveal her location. This turned out to be a very real threat as after the war was over, a nuclear device was found in their possession, apparently being sourced from Australia.

This threat prompted Otherian, the Prussian Kaiserreich and Blitzakartz to declare war on the failed state of Edishki. The German contributions to the war was massive, with all three arms of their military being used to great effect. Otherian however, being a neighbour of Edishki, entered a total war economy and began conscription to ensure their sovereignty. As a result, the total amount of manpower from otherian far outweighed everyone else. It is rumoured, even Zaroshi, the leader of otherian, was involved in front line fighting. A campaign was launched from the southern most Japanese islands to work north, eliminating Senist forces in a clean sweep. The Senist forces dug into Hokkaido and pushed back the allied forces so effectively, they were forced Into a temporary retreat. This is when Blitzakartz entered hostilities. The Blitz used a brand new weapon in their arsenal, an E.M.P In a decisive strike, crippling Senist electronics, paving the way for a full allied land invasion. Blitzakartz faced initial condemnation for endangering allied lives, but argued that it was the fastest way to end the war and ensuring a nuclear explosive did not go off.

The war ended with a decisive allied victory. Otherian had suffered immensely, with their leader being confirmed to have been involved on the front line. He was rescued by Amazonacan and Blitz special forces before the EMP went off. The Prussian Kaiserreich was gifted the port town of Sapporo by The Edishkian government after returning from exile. Sougran aid workers were employed in the reconstruction of Edishki and clean up of radioactive material on Hokkaido.
