The New Nipponese Empire (Nipponese: 新日本帝国, Shin Nihon Teikoku), more commonly referred to as Nippon (Nipponese: 日本, Nihon), is an absolute monarchy east of Chun-Nan and the continent of Elashia. Nippon is an upcoming yet stable military and economic power in the East. It is notably inferior to its continental cousin, but the Empire has engaged in colonialism in order to bolster its own power and prestige.
Nippon has recently gone through a dynastic upheaval. The exiled Mogami dynasty had returned after centuries in exile, and have successfully managed to usurp the throne they had been denied. The first Mogami imperial sovereign, Emperor Hisao, has died and left his only child, Mizuki, to take his place. It has been two years since the Emperors passing, and the Empire is in a time of peace and prosperity. It is unknown whether this will last, but the benevolent and dignified reign of Empress Mizuki is bound to put Nippon in the goodwills of many.
