The Languages of the Republic of Genova and Liguria

Apart from English, which is used only in working environments, the spoken languages in the republic are the following:

1) Italian
Italian is the main language of the Republic. It is spoken by almost everyone and it is the teaching language in every school in our territory

2) Standard Ligurian
Also called Zenéize, is a language mainly spoken in the city of Genova. Almost every inhabitant of the capital city can speak both Italian and Ligurian

3) Low Zenéize
Mainly spoken in the province of Genova, it is similar to standard Ligurian but with some archaic features, such as the absence of "ç", replaced with "ss"

4) Sàn Zòrzìn
Dialect spoken in San Giorgio. Slightly different from Standard Ligurian. Some words change and, for example, all the words ending in -çión change their ending, which becomes -siùn

5) Far Western Ligurian
Spoken in Ponente Ligure and in its province. Many influences from French
