A Wolf's Tale Chapter 12

Let me tell you, our characters did nothing important during the three days of staying in the hospital; It was boring. They were impatiently waiting for their release, so they could continue on their mission to watch the humans' camp.

After those three days were over, they finally breathed fresh air. "Finally!" Auri yelled, who was brushing his fur. "We're free! Now we- I can get hurt again!" A blonde wolf laughed when she heard him. "Be careful doing that!"

Auri laughed a little, but Caelum quietly watched. "We will." he said, bending his ears playfully. Caelum and Auri incautiously ambered down the tree grounds ,and they raced near the river. They made it to the opening behind the bush to stalk the humans, but there were already wolf guards in their spots.

One of the two guards raised up and snuck away from the bush when he heard them come. "We heard that you two were injured, and we took over for you." He said.

His fur was darker than Auri's; And he had bright blue eyes. He was taller than the average male wolf, and had a scar on his paw.

"I see you're better, Caelum." The warrior told the silenced wolf. "And those scars, we all have our scars. Wasn't it a hunter? If you want to tell me." Cae wanted to talk. He talked with his paws.

"It was a hunter. It was mainly me escaping that gave me those scars." He said, who smiling for once. Auri listened closely, "What happened?' he screamed in his head.

"Well you two could take over, or you could relax and be free for the day." The gaurd said, who was turning to his collegue. "We might need a break from all the excitment." Caelum said, not wanting to leave the conversation because of how they related. "Alright then," the warrior said, working his way back to the bush. "You two take a break."

So the groups left each other; the guards continued watching and our wolves continued walking. "What do you want to do, Auri?" Caelum asked his little student. "We could go eat somewhere." Auri said, looking from Caelumn to the ground.

"We'll do that." His Cae said. "I have money in my bag." Auri saw the bag he had because his Cae mentioned it. "Where do you want to eat?" Caelum asked, adding prices in his head. "I don't know; I'll be fine with what you choose." He couldn't decide. "There's a new one by the cave we could go visit." He thought. "We can do that."

They leisurely strolled to the new restauraunt. "Sydney Stalegrabs' Kitchen ?" Auri read the sign to the large cave. The place had a plank of wood for a sign. It looked so modern; it couldn't match the theme of the village. "I sense a problem here. This is a wrong change." Caelum said. "It is strange." Auri said. They walked into the wierd tavern.

They were immedietly greeted by a waitor, instead of sitting down before they were asked anything. "Welcome to Sydney's." He said. "Table for two?" He was a white-furred wolf with orange eyes and no scars. He was alarming, for most wolves have scars from their life. Wolves in this society are encouraged to get into trouble. He asked leading them to a small square table, instead of a large round table. "Here are the menus. Take your time." He said standing by the strange table.

"We need some more time..." Caelum said, being grossed out by the menu. She walked off, leaving them to decide. "Auri, this is wierd." Cae said, trying not to sound rude. "Wolves can't live off this. This isn't unhealthy, it's just..." he paused and read out the menu. "Avacado toast? Fried chicken, so many salads..." he cringed. "Maybe it's just different to you; you hate change." Auri said, reading the menu. "Yes, but this is nothing that would benefit me." Caelum said, putting down the menu.

"I'll order for you." Auri told his Cae. "We'll get this fried chicken. It's chicken." "That'll work." Cae slumped. "Water?" Auri asked. "Sure, we'll get fried chicken and water; they can't change the water. It all is from the river."

The waitor returned. "Have you decided yet?" he asked, Cae put his head back up and put on a face. "Yes. We'll have the fried chicken and water." Auri said energetically. "Okay, then." He replied, writing it all down. "It'll be here soon." He said walking away.

"This is like a human restaurant." Cae said looking at the scenery and food. "This lacks Southern Tribe culture." "It's fine, Cae; this restaurant looks different, yes. But it has its own culture." Auri tried to make him feel better. Then the food came. "Here ya go." Said the waitor. "Thank you." Said Auri, helping by putting the plates of chicken in their spots. The waitor walked off. "Well that was too quick." Skeptic Cae said, looking at the greasy mess. "What happened to spending time in the kitchen making food?"
