The Snowfall

In the stead of President Zoyral, the Vice-President had been designated as acting President until Zoyral waa fit to return to the Office.

Unfortunately, President Zoyral's Vice President has recently fled, a note being found yesterday of his disappearance, stating the job as "stressful" and "unsuitable for me".

In his place will be appointed Frank Harstov, a Zukchivan man born in the Kampfian Empire and moved after university to Sevorida, where he served as a General in the Sevoridan armed forces until Unification.

Hpwever, many citizens have expressed some concern, stating him as "a capitalist imperialist" who has goals "to take over Zukchiva and spread capitalism".

The government still backs it's descision, stating, "This is our choice as a military leader, who will help protect us against foreign aggression. His thoughts and loyalties have and always will be Zukchivan."

While many people are angry at this, they are afraid to utilize the right of assembly and petition after the Snowfall massacre that downed Seveni and killed many citizens.

Zukchiva wrote:Frank Harstov steps up to the podium quietly. The winter plaza is silent as the crowd stares up at him. Many have curious faces, though some do not look enjoyed at the prospect of yet another President.

It was Frank's goal to calm their fears. Raising his hand and moving it side to side; Frank watched the crowd fall silent as a calm spring. He looks up at the winter's sky before looking at the people.

"Citizens." He declared with his voice bouncing from speakers. "I have been inaugurated as acting-vice President and acting President of Zukchiva." He smiled firmly and stood proud like a grand castle, with pride and honor written on its walls. "Today, I have come to serve the people." He looks at random members of the crowd. "Many have felt that my views conflict that of the government."

After a second of a pause he nodded. "They. They would be right. My views may cause conflict in this office. But." He closed his eyes for a moment. "But. I am not worried about my views right now. I was choosen not by my merits on capitalism, but on my merits of age and military ability." He nodded grimly. "The time has come for you to open your eyes, citizens. The war is upon us, and she is a viscous beast with a heart of iron and rock." He stared, mightily, at the crowd; his gaze boring into their eyes.

"And now. Now in the face of terror under the guise of charity. Now, and now, is when we must be strongest." He curls his hands around the podium. "Not when Zukchiva was fighting Nagatar. Not when the Kampf Empire threatened humanity. No. Now is when we must be strong. And I. I. I promise. To help you. Be strong." He raised his hand, palm first to the crowd. He then steps down from the podium without a word and walks off.

Zukchiva wrote:The House has received a particular request from the acting President, requesting armaments and vehicles be sent to a specific part of Zukchiva, specifically near the Northern coast.

The House finds this suspisous, noting that it has barely been a day since he was inaugurated and a few minutes since his speech.

Zukchiva wrote:The House of Congress ends the debate quickly, which some say would be the fastest meeting in the world.

This was accomplished by a minor politician saying, "We appointed him, we knew he may have asked for such things. Thus, we should give it to him."

This argument saw no denial and many House members were in agreement. To compromise; however, 20,000 Zukchivan soldiers would be sent with the weaponry to reassure citizens of the coast.

Many citizens agree with this plan of action and are glad to see their nation moving somewhere again after the Snowfall massacre, though some as always disagree with these actions.

We come to you with a plea and with a hope.

This is a message to all nations except those of our fatherland's trusted and allies. Those nations have not received this transmission.

We are sea-faring people. Since the dawn of people in these arctic snows, we have been here.

Our ancestors learnt the way of the ancient craft and passed our knowledge to our forefathers. Our wives weave clothing from the fur of the sea-life.

Yet... you have not heard of us. Until now.

A forgotten and often disrespected part of Zukchiva's history is ours. We were here years before any human settler set foot here. We were peaceful, happy, content. So we were that we decided to harbor the Zukchivans and help them into this new world.

Eventually, we became split between two villages. Our race mixed and slowly vanished under the Zukchivan gene. Yet, we have been content.

Until now.

Now, we feel that our fatherland has moved in a direction no longer suitable for our people.

Therefore, we request your help to secure our independence, or if not independence, then a higher status as a state.

Will you help us?

The House turns back to look over other proposals before ending the day.

Felter... a people we have little interaction with.

Your ships have not sailed into our ports since the day Zukchiva decreased relations with Charity...

We require land troops. To hold back the Zukchivan land forces.

They will be desperate. We will control their entire navy. They will be at our mercy. They will try to fight us, but their citizens will recognize our plight.

The Zukchivan compassion has always been their greatest downfall...

Their government, therefore, will not be able to send many troops or soldiers. If we can get enough foreign help, we can get independence or maybe a commonwealth with the other states.

This is the same message to other nations.

Please help our people.

Meanwhile, Frank, who is travelling with the caravan of military supplies to "oversee the transition", is riding with the commander of the transport and overall units being sent.

His silent yet calm figure intimidates the men very much. Their eyes skit up and around the truck back. At certain points, they sneak looks at Frank. One being a veteran and another having never left Zukchiva in his life, both were frightened by a man some would call "the classic leader".

The unit commander slowly sneaks a look at Frank when suddenly, the vice-President speaks. "How much would it serve you to serve me and my people.?"

Sanomal wrote:Frank sighs. "The Sanomal. In your schooling years. Or did you forget that?"

The UC nods suddenly. "Yes, yes, I remember! So... you guys want to be free?"

Frank nods. "Yes. Yes we do."

The UC shakes his head a little. "Why though?"

Frank shrugs. "Because we feel that we deserve to be recognized for who we are. We don't want to be a sovereign nation though."

The UC frowns. "What? Then you want to be a state?"

Frank shakes his head. "Kind of... but we want to give the other states perhapps one or two more rights. And relabel Zukchiva as a commonwealth that it is."

The UC nods. "I.. I guess I will just help you then."

Frank smiles and his eyes gleam. "Welcome to the team."
