Twisted-7, Project Whitefeather, Experiment 487230-C, Unit 482, and Operation Kreuzotter

Twisted-7

The Twisted-7, or Twist7 was the codename of a fringe movement within Necropolis responsible for the events of Project Whitefeather and Operation Kreuzotter. Twist7 worried that the plans of Operation Empty Quiver would not succeed in the ambitious goal of the total annihilation of all life on Earth. To that end, Twist7 sought out and funded "Plan Bravo"; a series of scientific projects to function in reserve in the event that Operation Empty Quiver failed for whatever reason. After the events of Operation Kreuzotter, the Twisted-7 have disbanded.

The Twisted-7 contained seven influential members of Necropolis, who have since went on to become major leaders within the fascist federation. Though many of the exact members are unknown, as few are willing to publicly reveal that they were part of the Twisted-7, some, like Abigail Williams, have openly admitted to having been a member of Twist7.

Project Whitefeather and Experiment 487230-C

Project Whitefeather was a Necropolitan biological weapons program from 2028-2060 CE that focused on creating mutagenic viruses, which was funded and administrated by the Twisted-7, and executed by the now defunct Unit 482. The project involved a series of secret facilities in several key locations all over the Earth, with teams of scientists working diligently, sharing their information with each other. They tried with a wide variety of viruses, before eventually settling on an airborne GMO megavirus, armed with CRISPR. The megavirus in question came to be known as as Experiment 487230-C, which was later made into a number of biological weapons. Questions have been asked as to how Project Whitefeather got their hands on Experiment 487230-C. Popular theories as to it's origins include theft from the USAMRIID, NSA, or even a MegaCorp.

Experiment 487230-C was armed with a variety of DNA injections, which were thoroughly tested. The facilities where the virus was tested engaged in kidnapping on a fairly large scale, but were careful to only kidnap those who would largely go unnoticed, especially the poor, destitute, and homeless. At these facilities, the kidnapped individuals were used as human test subjects for the viruses, to see just what kind of mutations were possible. DNA injections which simply killed the subjects were discarded; Unit 482 did not want a weapon which would simply kill its victims, but one that would cause as much social and civil instability as possible. Test subjects were kept locked in dark rooms in poor conditions and were given little food and water. They were forcibly exposed to strains of Experiment 487230-C; and later on they were forced to fight one another to test the full extent of the mutations and their effects on the human body. Over 70% of the test subjects died in the process.

Unit 482's Restructuring Following Operation Empty Quiver

After the events of Operation Empty Quiver, much of Necropolis underwent restructuring. Previously, Necropolis had been a covert movement, but the structure, hierarchy, and leadership needed for a revolution differ from that needed to run an empire. Unit 482 was no longer needed, at least not in that form. It, along with many other of the science teams created, organized, and funded under Twist7 were regrouped and swallowed by other scientific divisions under the restructuring of Necropolis.

Operation Kreuzotter

Operation Empty Quiver was, as the Twisted-7 predicted, not successful at its intended goal, but it was successful in eradicating over 99% of the human population in what would later be known as the Apocalypse. Alongside Operation Empty Quiver was Operation Robber At The Door, an effort to sabotage many of the nuclear bunkers used by country leaders, other politicians, and the wealthy elite of the pre-Apocalypse world. Operation Robber at the Door maximized the damage caused by Operation Empty Quiver; though Operation Robber at the Door did not succeed in destroying all, or even most of the hidden bunkers, it did succeed in ensuring that not a single government of the pre-Apocalypse world survived intact.

Approximately one week after the events of Operation Empty Quiver, Plan Bravo went into effect. As a number of the operations under Plan Bravo were not yet ready, the only one (that is yet known) that went into effect was Operation Kreuzotter. Operation Kreuzotter followed up the nuclear strikes of Operation Empty Quiver with warheads containing the twenty-four selected strains of Experiment 487230-C, and expelled the airborne virus all over the Earth and into the jet streams. Operation Kreuzotter worked as expected, mutating approximately 80% of the surviving human population, and much of the animal population as well into what are now known as vir-mutants.
