Featured RP: Mysterious Plague Pandemic on Urth!
By The Atlae Isles
It all started with Patient 0 on May 28, the Luthaiyan vulpine who jumped the fence into Valokchia and started experiencing coughing, dizziness, and paranoia; devolving into a state of rabid madness.
It soon became an epidemic that started spreading around the world, killing many and putting governments under alert, trying to control the rapidly spreading disease.
The disease, which first popped up at Vanoi Medical Center in Valokchia, was dubbed "Vanoi Fever" caused by the "PC-60" virus. It is resistant to most antivirals, making treatment limited to richer areas. Vanoi Fever is spread through contact with bodily fluids between an infected person and a non-infected person.
After a few weeks of showing symptoms, human victims suffer insanity, inflammation of the meninges, extreme aggression, deterioration of higher brain functions, and eventually death. Vulpine victims will suffer insanity, extreme rage and aggression, deterioration of higher brain functions, and eventually death. Insane victims, unfortunately, still have the capacity to harm others, and many, including medical staff and emergency workers, have been killed when the victims become uncontrollable.
By the time the government of Valokchia took action on June 10 and set up a quarantine, it was too late. The virus had spread to many other continents.
As the virus spreads and people grow more desperate, what will they do in the days to come to survive? Find out here: http://forum.theeastpacific.com/topic/7021626/1/
Statement from the Minister of Foreign Affairs
By Wonder woman i
Good Afternoon,
I am proud to announce that Pergamon, and myself have officially made The Pacifican Amity treaty official between our 2 great regions, The East Pacific, and The Pacific. I want to thank my entire Ministry for their hard work on the drafting phases, and the Magisterium for supporting our efforts! This treaty has been a long process, but we will be closer to one of our biggest allies. I am excited to be working with The Pacific, and learned a great deal as The Minister of Foreign Affairs. I've met some great people along the way when I was visiting The Pacific. This treaty will make us stronger militarily, diplomatically, and in the World Assembly. I will close by saying this, The sun never sets on The Pacifics.
WA Stagnates; TEP Doesn't Notice
By United massachusetts
Recently, not much has happened in the World Assembly, much the dismay of its authors. That blissful silence was rather abruptly shattered when Superdelegate Imperium Anglorum suddenly submitted a slew of seven repeals at once on topics ranging from religion to fracking, an unprecedented move. Rather immediately, there was controversy, much of it involving the East Pacific, whose World Assembly staffers generally opposed them. One, Wallenburg, opposed every single proposal on the grounds that they weren't drafted forumside, demanding access to the private drafting room, supposedly in a Google Doc, where they were drafted. Others, such as WA Minister United Massachusetts, expressed concern that such private drafting undermined the legitimacy of forum drafting, but still remained open to the possibility. After a slew of legality challenges (many of which TEP hurled), the proposals all fell just a couple of votes short at update despite campaigning, perhaps because Delegates simply didn't want to click seven links.
In other news, the Regional WA Affairs Ministry has seen a spike in activity as of late, even as new WA Affairs Minister United Massachusetts takes the job following Verdrassil's resignation. It has attempted to modernise and adapt its Information for Voters campaign to distinguish it from that of its Northern counterparts and has also seen a spike in recruited talent as it welcomes to the Ministry Erithaca, Aclion, and potentially even more. Plan for an active coming weeks, as TEP members seek to push forward resolutions on matters like conversion therapy and the processing of personal data.
An Interview with Kurnugia
By Tretrid
Because the current Overseeing Officer of the East Pacific Sovereign Army, Elfine, is currently inactive, General Kurnugia has run EPSA in Elfineās stead.
Tretrid: Are you satisfied in the direction that EPSA is currently going?
Kurnugia: Yes. We are currently more engaged in gameplay activities than when I took my position in the high command of EPSA. However, currently lacking in active officers with drive to do military action. As of now, I would say that I am the only one available to do so.
Tretrid: How has activity been?
Kurnugia: Recently we have engaged in tag raids and the conquest of Carthage. Now, we are helping the occupation of Nova Jane Austinus. The goal would be if we can do an op once per week.
Tretrid: How do you plan to increase officer activity?
Kurnugia: The best way would be to get more soldiers first. Then to promote those who have shown reliability and drive during their time in EPSA.
Tretrid: How will you promote EPSA and try to increase recruitment?
Kurnugia: Through activity and making EPSA somewhat more of a name to our residents. Either through regional telegrams, looking for recruits amongst the citizenship applicants that have stated their interested in it. There is also a nice dispatch in the works.
Tretrid: From personal experience, when my WA is not on my main because I'm out for EPSA, I receive mass TGs telling my main to join the WA, and when my main is WA, I get told to join EPSA. Is there any way that can be mitigated?
Kurnugia: By whom do you get those TG's?
Tretrid: This situation happened when Elfine was active, since she was the one sending out the EPSA TGs. Another one of the ROs was encouraging people to join the WA, to increase Yuno's endorsement count. Will that be happening again?
Kurnigia: This really isn't my department I am afraid.
Tretrid: Ah. Will EPSA continue working with TWPAF?
Kurnugia: Yes. We seek to work with all feeders.
Tretrid: Are there any major goals that you wish to achieve while you're in charge of EPSA?
Kurnugia: Increasing our updater count to 20 as well as having an officer staff that could replace me.
Tretrid: Will EPSA continue being an independent org?
Kurnugia: Yes.
Tretrid: Thank you for taking the time to speak with me.
