"Our mission is to promote the worldwide revolution, education, and the overall end to all imperialist hegemony. If that means a larger military then so be it - our ends will justify our means."
- Lev Bronshtein, 19 October 2062

Lev Bronshtein is the current Vice Chairman of the Council of Democrats, elected in 2061 after the sudden death of the former and by recommendation from Chairwoman Song Liyuan. However, Council members protested his candidacy due to his pro-interventionist stance and past promotion throughout his political career, which has been referred to as "left neoconservatism"by anti-interventionist political circles throughout the media. He himself identifies with the Wesseleyite doctrine of "permanent revolution" which has been discussed and discredited by most SUSR political analysts for "mimicking the methods of American imperialism" and for "enticing outdated cold war rhetoric to the masses".

Life

Lev Bronshtein was born 22 April 2012 in Shevchenkove, Cherkasy Oblast, Soviet Union to an Orykovian woman named Maria Peiper and an Ukrainian man named Myron Bronshtein as the oldest of two. His family lived in a communal housing system and worked at the Shanti Fruits Collective Farms in the Soviet Union throughout his childhood with little money due to the liberal reforms of the 2010s that hurt working class families. However, despite these troubles, Bronshtein maintained good grades in his schooling while becoming fascinated by the works of Radek Wesseley and his theory of "Permanent Revolution", and in a school essay argued that Wesseley's theories were correct and that the theories of Laxim were a deviation from both Engels and Amundsven's original practices. By the end of his formative years, Bronshtein had established himself as a top student within his class and once he left home to attend the Moscow State University he chose to pursue a degree in law.

While attending university, he met a woman named Svetlana Boyko in his second year in 2029, who he would go onto form a relationship with until she died in in childbirth to their first son, Lyuben, in 2039. However, for the first few years of his child's life, he was unavailable as due to his service in the military during the third world war, and more specifically the Alaskan War, where he coincidently became a good friend with future Chairwoman of the Council of Democrats, Song Liyuan, but in his place his parents would take over the role as his child's guardians.

After the end of the war in 2043, he returned home shaken by the events he experienced while deployed in Alaska while also growing more patriotic towards the Supranational Union and resented many of the anti-war voices in the SUSR by people who never experienced the conditions of a soldier. Often times he would attend mass gatherings and speak at socialist conferences where he would outline the necessity of war in order to end war due to the "socialist need" to "eradicate capitalism, colonialism, and bourgeois influences".

In 2047, he would meet Vanka Iosif, a 22-year old (at the time) Orykovian woman from New Chernobyl, who he would later marry in late 2053 two years before the birth of his second child, Ivana, and four years before his youngest, Kruševac, were born.
Leadership

Policies

  • A.I Planned Economy
An economic system that has been promoted by many politicians throughout the history of the SUSR but first promoted by Nikita Romanic in 1961 with the "State Automated System", which sought forth to develop an interlinked computerized system of resource allocation based on the principles of cybernetics; unfortunately, the project was scrapped in 1972 due to economic stagnation and poor economic planning. However, Bronshtein has re-popularized the idea since 2054 stating that "our technology is better than it was 100 or something years ago, there is no reason not to try it."

  • The Bronshtein Doctrine
The guiding political doctrine of Bronshtein's political activity, which expounds the idea that the Supranational Union has the right to intervene in the affairs of socialist countries that seek to adopt capitalism or "pervert socialism" in anyway throughout the world. Along these lines, it also defends and advocates a tougher stance against the cronyism, corruption, and the United States. It has been compared to ideological trends such as neoconservatism in the past for its aggressive take on foreign policy and willingness to back regime change in opposing countries.

  • Socialization
Socialization is an economic policy of Bronshtein which seeks to socialize industry to give greater autonomy to workers within their workplace. He has proposed the improvement of cooperative systems within the day to day interactions of industries across the Supranational Union. Bronshtein's socialization has been compared to privatization for its similarities to decentralize central state control over the economy and for its strengthening of private institutions and weakening of state organs; however, his socialization wouldn't allow for wealthy individuals to control large portions of daily business.

  • Trade Union Policy
Lev Bronshtein is a supporter of trade unions and has called for mobilizing the country’s hundreds of millions of workers to make accomplishments in the new era and break new ground in the cause of the workers’ movement and trade unions’ work.
