The Republic of Vurk is a tiny, efficient nation, ruled by 2nd Director Nikishai Strix with an iron fist, notable for its state-planned economy, and punitive income tax rates. The hard-working, cynical, compassionate population of 4 million Vurkians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous, socially-minded government prioritizes Law & Enforcement, although Administration, Education, and Industry are also considered important, while Spirituality receives no funds. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Kinigin. The income tax rate is 100%.

The developing Vurk economy, worth 43.81 billion VCRs year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. Although terror is a moderate issue especially on borders and deserted mountains; crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Vurk's national animal is the Owl, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.
