LEGISLATURE

The legislature is divided into the 600 member Chamber of Representatives, representation of the people, and Chamber of Senators, representation of regions. It has the power to propose, compose, and enact legislations, set the budget, and approve/dismiss a cabinet. The Chamber of Representatives can be dissolved by the President at the request of the Chancellor.

    Description: The governing party, allied with the Green-Pirate Party and Prosper Together Party. Broke away from the Conservative Party in 2017 and attracted large-scale defections. Raised Ł4 billion from Super PACs during the elections, greater than all other parties combined.
    Supports: Mass housing development and subsidy, education subsidy, free market politics, world government, continental federation, surveillance state, infrastructure push, bureaucratic reform, environtmental protections, deregulation of fracking and petrol exploitation, carbon tax, elimination of subsidies on defense and petrol companies.
    Power Base: Urban population, youth, middle class, consumer business, giant technology corporations and green foundations.

  2. GREENS-PIRATES PARTY (GPP)

    "In ourselves we trust"


    President of GPP, Willem Portcullis

    Ideology: Pirate Politics, Environmentalism, E-Democracy, Social Liberalism, unbridled Laissez-Faire Capitalism, feminism, trickle down economics.
    Leader: Willem Portcullis
    Description: Merger of the Reform Party, Pirate Party, and the Green Party. Dominated by tech magnates. Formally in coalition with FF. Criticized for their willingness to backtrack their already small political agenda in exchange for cabinet seats.
    Supports: Technology infrastructure development, technology grants, "Green New Deal", copyright reform, anti-corruption and transparency, space exploration, hardcore environtmental protection, nuclear and other renewable power, ban on fracking.
    Power base: Youth, urbanites, tech corporation.

  3. PROSPER TOGETHER (PT)

    "Share the justice"

    Ideology: Corporatism, regulationism, social democracy, center-left, hardline SJWism.
    Leader: Katlin Astar
    Description: Supermajority confidence-and-supply, enabling the ruling government to pass legislations very quickly in exchange of welfare programs support. Backstop if the GPP left coalition due to the ever-expanding surveillance state. Dominated by big unions and energy companies.
    Supports: Single payer healthcare, tuition-free education, "Third Way", limited business regulations, wealth tax, corporate tax increase, gun control, hate speech control / blasphemy law, lowering of the carbon tax.
    Power Base: Retirees, low-income, big public unions, energy and industrial corporations.

OPPOSITION

  1. CONSERVATIVE (CSV)

    "Strength through unity, unity through faith"

    Ideology: Conservativism, Lairoscepticism, nationalism, right-wing populism.
    Leader: Vincenté Farfax
    Description: Largest opposition party. Ruled the nation since 2010 before 2/3 of its supporters defected to the FF in 2017, leaving hardliners in charge.
    Supports: Abortion and same sex marriage restrictions, police and military spending increase, limitation of the LU and NWO influence, privatizations, tax cuts, austerity, protectionism, drug prohibition, aggresive foreign policy, hard stance on immigration and crime.
    Power Base: Military-Industrial Complex, energy industry, rural population, religious, veterans.

  2. LIBERTARIAN (LT)

    "Live and let live"

    Ideology: Libertarianism, Anti-Surveillanceism, Lairoscepticism.
    Leader: Charras Proditor
    Description: Opposition party committed to libertarianism and anti-government policies.
    Supports: Massive to total cuts on public spending, mass privatization, small government, gun rights, drug legalization, dismantling of all state surveillance, removal of income tax and introduction of Fair Tax, large bureaucratic cuts, budget balancing, gold standard, crackdown and prohibition of public unions.
    Power Base: Retirees, rural.

  3. SOCIALIST-NATIONALISTS (SOZI)

    "Wunderstrafanstalt First"

    Ideology: Reactionary populism, far-right nationalism, authoritarianism, anti-NWO, anti-Neoglobalism, anti-Continentalism, anti-Elitism.
    Leader: Ogros Duro
    Description: Ruled the country in a dictatorship from 11998 to its overthrow in 12010. Polls tanked due to its connection with the June 12015 far-right terror attacks.
    Supports: Gun control, LU exit, NWO handicap, remilitarization, complete immigration restrictions, elimination of climate change prevention programs, universal basic income.
    Power Base: Low-income class, paramilitary groups, veterans.

  4. WORKERS POWER (WP)

    "Workers of the world, unite!"

    Ideology: Reactionary militant syndicalism, socialism "with Wunderstrafanstaltian characteristics."
    Leader: Marrel Maerx
    Description: Radical left-wing party active since 1911. Shifted more and more to the center to adapt with Wunderstrafanstalt's natural capitalist values. The radical wing is still heavily connected to the somewhat violent militant paratroopers of Anarcho-communists and Contrafa, however.
    Supports: Universal basic income, free healthcare, free education, free college, Ł40 (NS$ 20) minimum wage, 70% resdistribution tax, business regulations, nationalizations, establishment of worker's cooperatives, establishment on referendum mechanism and citizens assembly.
    Power Base: Unions, low-income workers.

  5. NATIONAL VIRTUE (NV)

    "God save Wunderstrafanstalt"

    Ideology: Religious Fundamentalism, Social Conservativism
    Leader: Archbishop Jacinko Shirziq
    Description: Extremist Lenist Cult party.
    Supports: End of the secular state, inclusion of Cult of Maxx values to law and policies, enforced blasphemy law.
    Power Base: Retirees, rural, religious.


EXECUTIVE

The government of Wunderstrafanstalt is run under a semi-presidential system. It is currently run by the coalition of the Functional Forces and the Greens-Pirates, currently headed by President Leovin Kalvar (FF) although much of day-to-day works is handled by his right-hand men Chancellor Rexis Mirexell (FF) and Coordinating Minister of Defense-Security Aresdem Hayska (Ind.).

The current ruling cabinet, the "Working Cabinet" is consisted of 14 ministers, 3 "superministers" (or coordinating ministers), 7 non-cabinet minister-level officials, a chancellor, and a president.
