The Allied States of the Western Continental Divide, informally known as Western Continental Divide or WCD, is a large capitalist nation residing in the western part of North America, bordering Canada, the Great Plains State, Colorado, New Texas, and Mexico.

Western Continental Divide's economy is one of the largest economies in the world, dominated by California, itself one of the biggest in the world. Agriculture plays an important role in WCD, with farming a crucial part of many state's economies. The San Joaquin and Willamette valleys are notable for their vineyards and their role in wine production.

The Divide is renowned for it's massive government, with high taxes to pay for the many services provided. Private industry is allowed and encouraged, but oppressively high taxes are enforced once a firm grows too large. All citizens are guaranteed certain civil liberties, such as the freedom of speech, the freedom to bear arms, the freedom of religion, the freedom of assembly, and others.

While civil rights are abundant, political freedom is non-existent. While states may elect representatives to serve in the National Assembly, there is only one legal political party: The Progressive Restoration. Opposition is illegal and clamped down on harshly by police.

The capital of Western Continental Divide is Los Angeles, also the largest city in the Allied States. The presidential mansion is located here, and the birthplace of the WCD in 2005 is preserved in a museum in the larger metropolitan area.
