Barracuda-class Motor Torpedo Boat, a modern MTB, the Barracuda Mk I entered service in 1999 and has since become the primary motor boat for river and coastal patrol, Barracudas serve with all fleets of the navy, apart from being used by the Grand/Home Fleet for patrolling the coastlines of the Home Islands they are also used by the Imperial Eastern Fleet, Imperial Northern Fleet, Imperial Southern Fleet and the Imperial Western Fleet for patrolling the coastlines and rivers of the colonies. Most of the Barracudas have open cabin doors, but the ones built for service in the northern colonies don't, the variant built for northern colonial use also has heaters, since the northern colonies are very cold.
The Barracuda has a max speed of 58 knots, and a continuous speed of 50 knots and a range of about 520 nautical miles when doing 40 knots. They are armed with 2 minigun turrets, 4 torpedo tubes, firing 18'' torpedoes, and 8 depth charges. They usually have a crew of 5 (2 gunners, 1 engineer, 1 helmsman and a captain).
In 2004 three new variants entered service, the Mk II, the Mk III and Mk IV, the Mk II has the rear minigun turret and depth charge racks replaced with a New London Armouries QF 2-pounder Bofors quad mount Type 1942, the Mk III has the rear minigun turret and depth charge racks replaced with an NLA QF 2-pounder Type 2004 quad autocannon and the Mk IV has the rear minigun turret and depth charge racks replaced with an NLA 20-pounder Type 2004.
