The Borderlands of Vir30 is a huge, orderly nation, notable for its rum-swilling pirates, free-roaming dinosaurs, and restrictive gun laws. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 697 million Vir30ians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Administration, Defense, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 64.1%.

The Vir30ian economy, worth 37.4 trillion Yen a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized black market in Woodchip Exports, Soda Sales, Arms Manufacturing, and Retail. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 53,657 Yen, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 4.3 times as much as the poorest.

Women who can do math in their head are burned for witchcraft, unshaven men are viewed with suspicion in courts of law, the government is spending billions of Yen on a fancy space probe to find a planet that may not even exist, and sexuality-questioning teenagers are placed in locked rooms with dirty magazines and lewd posters. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Vir30's national animal is the Cat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Vir30 is ranked 98,612th in the world and 73rd in Frozen Circle for Highest Poor Incomes, with 24,441.21 Standard Monetary Units.
