The United Socialist States of UACR is a very large, genial nation, renowned for its state-planned economy, absence of drug laws, and punitive income tax rates. The compassionate, democratic population of 197 million Americans love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The government — a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, socially-minded morass — juggles the competing demands of Education, Welfare, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 78.9%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but stagnant American economy, worth 3.15 trillion nones a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is quite specialized, is led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Uranium Mining. Average income is 15,966 nones, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The military recognizes no difference between male and female soldiers, young people suspect their parents might be a little bit stupid, hospitals fear government fines more than terrorist ransoms, and more money is spent on policing the welfare system for abuse than on the welfare system itself. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. UACR's national animal is the Eagle, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

UACR is ranked 208,957th in the world and 7,605th in the South Pacific for Rudest Citizens, with 21.19 insults per minute.
