The Grand Duchy of Tredoniland is a small, safe nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape, compulsory military service, and daily referendums. The compassionate, democratic, devout population of 26 million Azachs have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Defense, and Welfare. The average income tax rate is 41.6%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The Azach economy, worth 1.25 trillion Chips a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Retail industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Uranium Mining. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 48,070 Chips, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.4 times as much as the poorest.

Exorbitant spending on icebreakers breaks the ice at every budget meeting, small businesses are gobbled up almost daily by corporate giants, bombs are permitted on planes for the 'security of the passengers', and recorded music can be rented but not bought from record companies. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Tredoniland's national animal is the Nanobot, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

Tredoniland is ranked 107,739th in the world and 5,009th in the South Pacific for Highest Crime Rates, with 2.59 Crimes Per Hour.
