The Holy Greater Reich of The Race of Lizards is a gargantuan, efficient nation, ruled by der Kaiser with an iron fist, and remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape, smutty television, and compulsory military service. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 22.953 billion Races are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The relatively small, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government is dominated by the Department of Defense, with Industry also on the agenda, while Environment and Welfare receive no funds. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Empire City. The average income tax rate is 47.7%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient the Race economy, worth an astonishing 11,683 trillion Reich Credits a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched, broadly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Uranium Mining, and Woodchip Exports. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is a breathtaking 508,998 Reich Credits, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.7 times as much as the poorest.

Peace talks occasionally rack up a higher body count than the wars they seek to stop, biological warfare is used to solve small disagreements, cremation is compulsory for the deceased, and chest pains are considered part of the dining experience in the Race restaurants. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, despite the fact that it is difficult to make it through a day without breaking one of the country's many laws. The Race of Lizards's national animal is the Vampire, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Spirit of Emperors past.

The Race of Lizards is ranked 4,042nd in the world and 195th in Balder for Largest Retail Industry, scoring 19,293.78 on the Shrinkwrap Consignment Productivity Index.
