The Senate and Freeholders of The Land of the Ephyral is a colossal, efficient nation, ruled by Archon Rhaemyrion Laetorios Taenitheos with an even hand, and notable for its sprawling nuclear power plants, ubiquitous missile silos, and complete lack of prisons. The hard-nosed, hard-working, humorless, devout population of 6.938 billion Ephyrīhi are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

The relatively small, corrupt, moralistic government is primarily concerned with Defense, with Law & Order, Education, and Healthcare also on the agenda, while Social Policy and Welfare are ignored. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Ephyra. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 8.2%.

The very strong Ephyrīha economy, worth a remarkable 1,371 trillion Gold Honours a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Uranium Mining, Retail, and Information Technology. Black market activity is rampant. Average income is an impressive 197,673 Gold Honours, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 618,925 per year while the poor average 48,407, a ratio of 12.8 to 1.

The regional delicacy of chocolate bombes is deadlier than an unexploded bomb, the only position a woman can hold is baby-maker, female brains are believed to heat up dangerously when 'overclocked', and a widely accepted trade policy is "tit-for-tat". Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The Land of the Ephyral's national animal is the Ephyral Eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution, and its national religion is Ephyral paganism.

The Land of the Ephyral is ranked 12,969th in the world and 5th in The Coalition of Democratic Nations for Lowest Overall Tax Burden, scoring 115.64 on the Hayek Index.
