-Established in 1926 by presidential decree the Consortian Armed forces have served TGEC in all matters relating to national defence. The first branch wad the terrestrial one, which at the start only had 60.000 commissioned officers and 100.000 NCOs. Shortly after the Naval Forces were formed, only owning five frigates, 7 corvettes and 10 destroyers.
Despite the small numbers it immediatelly had to go into action during the War of the two Polands, where a revolutionary, ultranationalist Poland was determined to conquer the entirety of Europe, and almost succeded if it wasn't for a small destroyer squad striking a Polish port and discouraging them from agression. The war ended soon after when a combined Coalition force advanced rapidly on Warsaw, marking the end of the war.
During the war The Grand Consortian at the time, GC Matthew Nament, demanded the establishment of an air force. This gave rise to the modern, powerful Consortian airforce which continues to be revered worldwide.
The next great challenge for the armed forces, which had rapidly expanded under the command of Grand Commander Lawrence Donder came when the Kalmar Union invaded TGEC, hoping to get back the territorries occupied in 1900. The war was brutal, with chemical weapons being widely used, but in the end it resulted in a stalemate with a cease-fire being negotiated
Branches
