The Borderlands of The Front Range is a huge, efficient nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape, complete lack of prisons, and suspicion of poets. The hard-nosed, hard-working, devout population of 235 million Front Rangers are free to succeed or fail in life on their own merits; the successful tend to enjoy an opulent (but moralistic) lifestyle, while the failures can be seen crowding out most jails.

The relatively small government is primarily concerned with Defense, although Law & Order, Education, and Industry are also considered important, while International Aid and Environment receive no funds. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 10.2%.

The all-consuming Front Ranger economy, worth 24.7 trillion metal scraps a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Automobile Manufacturing, and Uranium Mining. Average income is an impressive 105,271 metal scraps, with the richest citizens earning 9.2 times as much as the poorest.

Military doctrine says not to open fire until you see the "beady little eyes" of Johnny Foreigner, a niche industry catering to S&M enthusiasts has sprung up, pollution is on the rise along with government approvals of fracking projects, and city workers have declared that rolling markets aren't good for business after all. Crime, especially youth-related, is almost non-existent, despite the fact that it is difficult to make it through a day without breaking one of the country's many laws. The Front Range's national animal is the giant tick, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

The Front Range is ranked 106,234th in the world and 4,064th in the South Pacific for Highest Drug Use, scoring 70.4 on the Pineapple Fondness Rating.
