Vokriind Research and Development Initiative

The Vokriind Research and Development Initiative (Vokriind Yahmindos ahrk Jahfir Gonal), also known under PR codenames like 'the Hyron Project' and others, is a research initiative started in 6E 3, with it still existing today (6E 86). It was started as a response to the many technologies lost during the exodus from Nirn at the end of the 5th Era; the An-Xileel Empire was extremely advanced during the 5th Era, possessing technologies which are only now beginning to find their equivalents in the newly researched and developed devices of the Ka'lu'umil, the most widely known example being the LinkAlcubierre Drive. Contrary to what is revealed to the public, the An-Xileel Empire's research team for the Triangle project which included it's invention wasn't an assemble of the best scientists working for Versalife at that time, but rather researchers who were part of the Vokriind Initiative. A major part of Vokriind research is currently led by senior members of the Ahkriim Institute of Technology and Ka'lu'umil Armed Forces R & D projects.

While the Vokriind Research and Development Initiative itself remains secret, several of it's creations are revealed to the public and other governments, and it's computer science research section is dubbed 'the Hyron Project' publically and many of it's other inventions are attributed to puppet-companies of the An-Xileel party like Versalife and Sarif Industries; generally, it's inventions include all of the restricted cybernetic and nanotechnological augmentations created by Versalife and Sarif Industries, including the augmentations and equipment used by the Shadowscales: furthermore, the development of the first Tau weaponry, sonic-memetic weaponry and currently-used military armors was directly led by the Vokriind Research and Development Initiative. However, it's clearly most significant developments in the recent times were the first- and second generation Organic Computational Matrices, second-generation Quantum Entangled Communicators, Hypercomputers and the developing field of Hypercomputation and the Quantum Cryptographical Network/Quant-Con. The following entries depict and describe the commonly-thought most important inventions of the Vokriind Initiative.

Hypercomputing Technology

Hypercomputers belong to the field of Linkhypercomputation, a previously rather unexplored field of mathematical and computational science - and that simply due to the core assumption of those devices being that they are able to compute more than a so-called Linkuniversal Turing machine. While this statement may sound arbitrary to a person without sufficient knowledge about computation theory, this essentially means that a hypercomputer is theoretically capable of calculating functions which are not not computable in the Church-Turing sense, and therefore are not any known type of algorithm.

As even the second-generation Organic Computational Matrices began showing difficulties when attempting to calculate a task approaching the complexity of Linksupertasks, actual research as a part of the Vokriind Initiative into hypercomputation technology was started. Early on, it was realized that several thousands of closely-interconnected, massively parallel multi-core quantum computing processors would posses the raw computational power to execute super-recursive algorithms; however, the first major problem faced by the developers were the conductors used by the Q-CPUs and so on; normal superconductors were not sufficient enough for such large and massive data transmissions, not to mention that effects like the LinkMeissner effect made the storage of so many Q-CPUs a difficult prospect.

The solution came with femtoengineering, the manipulation of matter on the nucleus scale. Through those methods, matter could be directly engineered to have extremely 'weird' properties, completely unlike that of normal matter found in nature. This was used to create type-III superconductors, or 'hyperconductors', how they're usually called; those hyperconductors utilize a so-called quamtum vortex, previously intristic to type-II superconductors. A quantum vortex causes the applied superconductor to circumvent and entirely remove the Meissner effect, while reducing electrical resistance to zero and electrical entropy to the point where electrons move as fast as light. Through this, the massive amount of data produced within hypercomputers can be transmitted between Q-CPUs, storage mediums and so on in less than a femtosecond, and quantum data storage was already advanced enough at that point to store such massive amounts of data correctly.

The second major obstacle was their massive energy consumption; the earliest hypercomputer prototype required it's own, small fusion generator to be adequately powered. Through this, yet another research project was started, and out of it, the fabled and extremely powerful Field reactors were created, not only using all 'mundane' forms of energy located within a given amount of space but also the vibrational powers of virtual particles, therefore acting as a virtual particle reactor as well. Micrometer thick Quantum Vacuum Force Fields, which are a byproduct of Field reactor research, are layered around key thermal points of the hypercomputer chassis, effectively absorbing the thermal energy radiated by the Q-CPUs and then recycling it with an efficiency of 100% - simultaneously also drawing virtual particle energy from the environment, while cooling the hypercomputers and even acting as defensive shields against pathogens and other outside agents.

Through hypercomputation, several super-recursive algorithms have been solved and/or are currently being studied, including Aristotle's actual versus potential infinity problem, the observation and analyzation of [REDACTED], supertasks dealing with superluminous travel, QCD simulations with the size of several hundreds of cubic kilometers and so on.

The Quantum Cryptological Network

The Quantum Cryptological Network, also called 'The Quant-Con' (Quantum Cryptological Network), is a decentralized network of quantum computers, hypercomputers, QEC communication lines and various other devices used by the An-Xileel party and assosciated/controlled organizations (like the Shadowscales) to distribute, store and analyze top priority information and the like. It is a Linkzero-knowledge proof, unconditionally secure system utilizing the most advanced computational technology possesed by the Ka'lu'umil to achieve it's security; and indeed, there was no successful hacking attempt ever conducted on the network.

The Quant-Con does not utilize any kind of luminal communication technology; instead, it purely utilizes high-bandwidth quantum entangled communciation lines to transmit information. While this makes the information in transit unconditionally secure and impossible to be intercepted, as third-party observation of the quantum entangled particles part of the QECs would cause complete disruption of the original message, it also significantly limits the freedom for transmission of messages to bi-directional channels which would theoretically lie purely between the sender and receiver. This is circumvented by so-called 'Relay Cores', several dozens of decentralized hypercomputers which posses the 'receiver' part of the quantum communicational lines possesed by every other hypercomputer/QCM used to strore/process the information of the An-Xileel and assosciates, acting in essence like telephone exchanges from the mid 4th Era.

The information sent by the QCMs/normal Hypercomputers is encrypted with a mixture of Linkquantum key distribution and Linkquantum commitment procedures (note that this form of Quantum Commitment utilizes a mixture of quantum gravity and relativity mechanics, therefore making it unconditionally secure as well) to send the information in a zero-knowledge proof and unconditionally secure manner. The information sent from the Relay Cores is encrypted via Linksupersingular elliptic curve isogeny cryptography, while also being subjected to the traditional encryption methods such as QKD and QC; while those procedures may seem as if they'd take an extraordinary amount of time to complete, the fact that hypercomputers compute with a clockspeed equalling the speed of light makes them unbelievably capable of performing those functions within less than a picosecond, multiple millions of times.

Furthermore, each hypercomputer/QCM connected to each other in this manner essentially forms a hivemind, with computational speed far higher than any brain which, for example, ever existed on Ingos Tenum has combined; therefore, any hacking attempts on the various hypercomputers or QCMs themselves are virtually instantaneously blocked and traced, upon which agents track those hackers down and subject them to punishment of varying degree.

Artificial Cybernetic Bodies

The ACB with body armor

Conceptualized roughly a decade ago and finally developed in 6E 78, artificial cybernetic bodies are far more radical in nature but also far more powerful than conventional prosthetic augmentations. However, this edge over usual prosthetics comes at the cost of a far more intrusive and riskful augmentation procedure; the amputation and following transplantation of the skull above the lower jaw and upper section of the spinal cord (ranging to the C6 section of the vertebral column), the subsequent reinnervation and connection of the spinal cord, blood vessels and bones to the frame of the artificial body and subsequent healing procedure. As of the current decision by the An-Xileel party's CINT, this technology is purely reserved for Powered Infantry Division and An-Xileel party members.

Attributes of the Artificial Body

The Artificial Cybernetic Body posseses, naturally, all necessary systems to keep the user's remaining organic parts alive, well-nutritiened and safe; this includes an artificial cardiovascular system solely existing for the head and running only through the torso while being connected to the biological cardiovascular system of the head through special, nano-structure supported intersections between the original blood vessels and the new ones of the artificial cardiovascular system. Artificial lungs capable of the 200% the average intake of oxygen are provided as well, and exist to provide oxygen for the respirocytes out of which the user's new blood consists off (nanites acting similarly to white blood cells in destroying any and all pathogens introduced to the system), said blood being pumped through the torso and head via a decentralized system of non-beating pumps. An artificial digestive system also exists, and works via one-way nanodisassembly; glucose and various other nutrients required for the biological bodyparts to function are solely synthesized from the digested material, while the remaining matter is converted to a utility grain stored within a chassis in the abdomen of the body and used for the reperation of any damage to it. In order to grant full control over the artificial body alongisde it's nanoassembly systems [-censored-].

Complete EMP resistance is granted by the usage of graphene-based circuits and conductors for any electronics rather than silicon, including for the specialized eye prosthesises, Neural Hub, biochip and any other additional augmentations. Sensory receptors are state-of-the-art; the endoskeleton of the body is made out of a femtoengineered, bend-resistant and extremely strong metal, while the body itself is covered in a protective carbon nanotube coating. The body's artificial muscles are, contrary to those of conventional cybernetic augmentations and similar to those of the SAS Military-Issue Cybernetic Leg Prosthesises, made out of piezoelectric carbon nanotube fibers, granting the user the ability to lift well over five tons of weight by him/herself, while the leg musculature is powerful enough to let the user run at 70 km/h top speed. The artificial body's primary energy source is a battery cell which can be powered through means of wireless electricity and digestion of matter and passively through movement via piezoelectric dynamos on the body, though energy is usually provided by the energy infrastructure system on Ka'lu'umil planets or military-issue generators. The bodies are manufactured to reach the height of two meters once the augmentation procedure is finished. Other commonly used augmentations, such as the Icarus Landing System, nanoceramic armblades and even the Typhoon Explosive System are part of the military artificial cybernetic bodies as well.

Augmentation Procedure

The surgical procedure used to transplant the subject's head unto the artificial body is an exceptional form of modern, automated head transplantation procedures. The very first phase, called P1 internally, goes as follows: Following the implantation of all necessary cranial implants, the subject's blood is completely replaced with respirocytes and medical nanomachines, upon which said medical nanomachines induce an artificial coma on the subject. Upon this, a few millions of nanites form inpermeable membranes in all blood vessels (that method being used to replace the method of cooling the head to temperatures allowing less oxygen consumption of cells than usual) in order for the artificial blood to not leave the head upon it being severed. Once this has happened, automated surgical machines sever the skull above the lower jaw, the spinal cord up to the C6 section of the vertebral column and any blood vessels just below the inpermeable nanite membrane carefully. This phase also sees the implantation of the cranial implants into the skull and brain of the patient.

The P2 phase has the severed head mounted unto the connective, artificial sockets of the artificial body; any nerves, including the spinal cord, are carefully molecularly fused with their artificial counterparts via the usage of medical nanites, the same procedure also applying to the bones and blood vessels, while the cranial implants are connected to the body as well and biological muscles are fused to the artificial ones. The skin is connected to the surface of the artificial body via a biomedical membrane and, through that, seamlessly transits into it. Following the initial mounting and connection, the biological bones are reinforced with nanostructures, espescially at the lower jaw and C1/Atlas vertebral column junctions of the artificial body and the head, in order to provide similar stability and strength as the chassis of the body does while also preventing any dislocation of the bones.

Once this has happened, the P3 phase of the augmentation procedure is commenced. The augmented subject is kept in an artificial coma for a full week; in that time, adaption of the biological bodyparts to the robotical ones is being monitored by medical AIs, while medical nanorobots keep fusing the junctions and tending to any possible wounds, lacerations or other possible problems. Once one week has passed, the subject is reawakened from the coma and slowly introduced to the new abilities and usage of their new body via several therapies within the following three months. After that, the subject is, in average, able to completely use his new body with no problems arising.

Synaptic Registry

Synaptic Registry is the for the Vokriind Initiative developed successor of it's spiritual predecessor, Synaptic Transfer. This method of crime analytical mind reading has been developed to replace the old and far riskier Synaptic Transfer, mainly offering three benefits over it: functionality even after large damage to the brain has been received, high accuracy and finally the process being entirely automated.

It's main information reading process is dependant on the fact that brains emit electromagnetic fields due to their own electrical charges. This effect is used by multiple medical appliances, such as magnetoencephalography; quantum mechanically speaking, it is now known that electromagnetism does indeed leave traces even in only weakly magnetic materials. Through this, the basic concept of Synaptic Registry arrises: In order to reconstruct a brain's electromagnetic field flow, and through that be able to deduce the former electricity flow and memories of the brain, the traces caused by the electromagnetism in the affected material are registered by means of spin-exchange relaxation free exterior magnetometers. The resulting data is then sent to any sufficiently advanced quantum (or hyper) computer with the appropriate software, upon which the reconstruction process starts; said process can take longer depending on the damage the brain has received, but the success rate is very close to 100%.

Directed Tau Particle Acceleration

Directed Tau Particle Acceleration, abbreviated as DTA, is the process of accelerating the sub-atomic, elementary Tau lepton to ultrarelativistic (near-light speed) and creating several ultrarelativistic tau beams through that which may be used as weaponry. The Ka'lu'umil's predecessor, the An-Xileel Empire, was the first recorded nation to ever utilize Directed Tau Particle Acceleration for usage in weaponry.

The benefits of utilizing Tau leptons rather than other, more macroscopic projectiles are substantial; the most obvious benefit is the Tau lepton's naturally extremely high mass of 1776.82 MeV/c2, compared to the Muon's 105.7 MeV/c2 and the Electron's 0.511/c2. This high mass gives the Tau lepton an espescially high, possible kinetic energy value, unrivalled by all other elementary particles used for directed energy weaponry. Another benefit is the fact that, due to their high mass, a Tau lepton does not experience nearly as much LinkBremsstrahlung radiation as the 3477 times less massive electron does, allowing the Tau lepton to be far more penetrative than the other leptons. Another benefit is that, due to the previous two advantages, it only takes a relatively small amount of Tau leptons (a few millions) to create an effectively usable beam.

However, the major disadvantage and the single reason as to why Directed Tau Particle Acceleration-utilizing weaponry is highly uncommon is the Tau lepton's naturally extremely short mean lifespan of 2.910−13 seconds; this means that a Tau lepton accelerated the 99.9% of the speed of light would merely travel 0.00008685287 meters, or approximately 0.8 milimeters, before it would decay into it's various other forms. The only way to highten the mean lifespan of a Tau lepton would be to subject it to femtoengineering and through that 'multiplying' their normal range of 0.00008685287 meters by 100000 in case of infantry weaponry, which would highten their range to roughly 8.7 kilometers, and in the case of spaceship Tau weaponry much higher, forcing the cost of adopting Tau weapony to be so high that only rich nations may afford atleast limited usage of them. This has also caused DTA weapons to be limited solely to the LinkPowered Infantry Division and the Ka'lu'umil Space Fleet.

Directed Tau Particle Acceleration Versa-Rifle


The Directed Tau Particle Acceleration Versa-Rifle, abbreviated as DTA-VR or just Versa-Rifle, is the standard firing weapon used by the Powered Infantry Division. It's uniqueness constitutes of the fact that it utilizes Tau leptons rather than Muons or any kind of other projectile weaponry, and that it combines the aspects of a shotgun and an assault rifle into a single weapon. Furthermore, it is fully shielded against EMP attacks by it utilizing graphene-based electronics rather than silicon-based ones, while it is also resistant against hacking attacks due to the hivemind HC Network linking each of them into a single hivemind. Lastly, the weapon is powered by a muon-catalyzed cold fusion cell, ensuring ample power even when the weapon is outside of Ka'lu'umil territory.

As ammunition, it utilizes femtoengineered Tau leptons travelling at 99.9% of the speed of light, but the weapon's unique design allows the Tau leptons to be fired in a burst or pulse fashion, similar to assault rifles and shotguns. In the former case, the Tau leptons are formed into narrow beams accelerated to ultrarelativistic speeds down the barrel, hitting the target with a kinetic energy enough to make an unarmored or just lightly armored target burst into pieces at the range of 500 meters; at closer ranges, where the shotgun feature is utilized, the Tau beams are manipulated into forming more pulse-esque constructs, still travelling at ultrarelativistic speeds, but loosing their pulse-consistency over the first kilometer after firing the weapon - however, this pulse can utterly destroy about any heavily armored foe and shields accompanying him with ease. Both of these firing mods cause considerable recoil, the second one even more than the first, which enables only people with completely mechanical bodies to be able to properly use them without harming or potentially killing themselves.

Sidereal Positioning System
The Sidereal Positioning System (Sidereal synonym: solar), abbreviated as SiPS and SPS, is officially a star system-based positioning system utilized in all Ka'lu'umil-controlled regions of space. As it is logistically and economically impossible to utilize a method similar to geopositional systems - such a method being having multiple satellites in orbit so that they may track a target at all times - due to the vastness of space and finite speed of light, the engineers and scientists who first conceived this system took a different approach on the matter. Rather than basing the tracking on external observation, it is done through calculation.

The key of this technology are pulsars, a special kind of neutron star, and small devices called XNAV receivers. Pulsars spin extremely quickly and release electromagnetic radiation in continuous, relatively easy to notice 'beams', characterized by the shimmering nature of pulsars when viewed with the bare eye. These beams regularly and in calculatable intervals hit a star system, in this example the Mundus system, which can be measured by the excess photons/radiation. With this data of when and in what intensity those beams hit, the quantum computers controlling this system can make a very accurate model of the solar system based on the point of time in which X amount of photons/radiation hits position Y as long as atleast four pulsars are registered and their beam behaviour catalogued (in comparison, the Mundus system's SPS has the grid data of 10 pulsars); as a general rule, four pulsar SPS systems have an accuracy of 1-2 kilometers while systems with more pulsars become gradually more accurate. The XNAV receivers simply measure the amount of photons at the current location and send the data by means of superliminal communication to the SPS data center, where the location is calculated and sent back to the XNAV receiver, which in turn sends the information to it's ship. Due to this, every spacevessel is required to posses an official XNAV receiver for it's time in the Ka'lu'umil's territory.

Side Systems

The above information is merely the official standpoint on the Sidereal Positioning System, as it also posseses a secondary function. As this system creates a comprehensive model of the solar system it is stationed in, it can be used to give other machinery coordinates within that model. The most prevelant usage of this is Phasal Transportation; while normal, public phasal transporters are limited to a 'booth' system in which the person wishing to be teleported has to enter a specific chamber to do so and may only teleport to other booths, the Phasal Transportation system combined with the SPS allows for teleportation to happen at any point anywhere (within the 2 AU limit of teleportation). This means that, for example, a person standing on an island may be teleported without hassle to an asteroid without ever having to enter or leave a teleportation booth. Additionally, combined with Doppler shift measurements, this system can be used to accurately track objects not possessing an XNAV receiver and potentially even teleport into them.

With the correct model extensions, this system also allows for teleporting inside buildings and otherwise concealed areas. Due to it's potential, the system is only usable by high-ranking organizations like the LinkPowered Infantry Division and the [REDACTED].

Pulsed Shield System

The Pulsed Shield System, abbreviated as PSP, can be compared in general effectiveness and purpose to a force field but regardless works different than one. Rather than basing on Quantum Vacuum technology or a plasma-graphene mesh, this type of force field utilizes a three dimensional grid of ultra-heated plasma and quark-gluon plasma (explained below) octahedra, or hexagonal prisms, layered into a dense grid. Due to it's special requirements and functionality, this technology is only available to the members of the LinkPowered Infantry Division.

The system exists in form of a grid of many thousand, micrometer-large photonic crystal-type laser emitters mounted on the posterior of the forearm, the dorsal hand area and the elbow of the left arm of the Artificial Cybernetic Body and LinkHualcana power armor supplied to the P.I.D. members. When activated, these emitters produce laser beams pulsed for the duration of a mere nanosecond, which makes them too fast to see with the naked eye or even augmented eyes. These laser beams are directed to calculated positions differentiated into three 'layers' in front of the user, with the last layer being one meter in fromt of the augmentee. Upon hitting the calculated positions rapidly due to them being pulsed in such short intervals, the lasers heat up the air at those spots so immensely that it forms into a so-called Linkquark-gluon plasma for a very short amount of time; the calculated positions are formed into octahedra/hexagonal prisms to make the shield more effective, as explained below. This motion is repeated 'inwards' to the following two layers, shifting slightly so that the hexagonal prisms do not overlap but rather form a wall with no large gaps. The quark-gluon plasma only persists for a few nanoseconds due to the lack of sufficient pressure and reverts back into ultraheated plasma; this lack of pressure is also what prevents the air to enter the process of nuclear fusion, and due to the slow heat conductivity of air and magnetic field which builds around the plasma hexagonal prisms, the heat does not extend far beyond the shield, leaving the user and equipment near to it safe.

The goal of this system is not to sustain each hexagonal prism layer, but to rather just keep creating new ones in a 'wave' motion, with the laser beams moving backwards from the newest to the oldest layer and then repeating that motion for as long as the shield is online. The shield's function is to 'cook' whatever projectile is shot through it by subjecting it first to the colder first layer which, depending on the type and material of the bullet, already destablizes the molecular structure of the projectile through the immense heat. The following two layers, of which the third one is still a quark-gluon plasma, add up with their far more tremendous heat and cause the bullet to evaporate. In case of energy projectiles, the strong and alternating magnetic fields between the layers and hexagonal prisms themselves can provide varyingly effective protection.

The obvious problem with sustaining this type of shield is that the overlapping positions of the hexagonal prisms makes it difficult for the lasers to continue moving towards the first layer. To amend this problem atleast partially, the system has been programmed to shift the calculated positions the longer the system is used, as to make it easier for the lasers to use milimeter-sized gaps for reaching the first layer. Another major problem is the comparatively large energy consumption of it; while this is not necessarily a problem for any Powered Infantry Division member stationed within Ka'lu'umil territory due to the readily accessible energy there, it is a problem outside of it or in areas in which wireless energy transmission is impossible; the recommended maximum time of using the Pulsed Shield System in such a case lies at 10-15 seconds.

Nonrefractive Cloaking Technology

Nonrefractive Cloaking Technology, abbreviated as NCT, is a technology developed by Vokriind researchers that aims to upgrade currently existing, electromagnetic wave-bending cloaking technology. As enemy groups are developing and deploying more and more anti-cloaking devices, the intelligence agency of the Ka'lu'umil is forced to upgrade it's own cloaking technology through a deviation from the standard electromagnetic bending - said NCT, which uses metamaterials in conjunction with normal cloaking technology. While this enables the usage of other sophisticated methods like camouflage, it makes a conversion into an implantable augmentation impossible due to its complexity.

While the term "nonrefractive" does not apply to the entire technology as it posseses camouflage and other features not dependent on the Linkrefractive index of the used metamaterials, it is important when regarding the acoustic and electromagnetic cloaking mechanics of NCT. In this case, nonrefractive refers to metamaterials possesing an acoustic or photonic refractive index of zero, which means that the phase of light or sound can travel at it's original speed through the metamaterial. This has exceptional implications regarding cloaking methods aimed at preventing non-visible detection, in particular through ultraviolet, infrared or radiowave-utilizing technologies like Radar, as radio waves would for example not be able to reflect off of NCT-utilizing targets, hence making Radar obsolete. Sonar would similarly become obsolete as the sound would be able to pass around the target unhindered; in addition, the noticeable shimmering around a conventionally cloaked user disappears due to metamaterial's nonrefractivity if they are combined, hence being useful even in situations where sophisticated detection technologies are not a problem.

While NCT does not cost the user significant amounts of energy to activate, as it is a passive effect created with the metamaterials assembled on the user's suit, acoustic and electromagnetic cloaking are usually not used simultaneously as the quality of both suffers from the decreased room available for the metamaterials to use. It is relatively costly to employ, and possible military applications are still being worked on.
