The Empire of Stalka is a small, safe nation, notable for its compulsory military service, punitive income tax rates, and devotion to social welfare. The compassionate, cynical, devout population of 20 million Akadians are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The enormous, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Spirituality, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 67.2%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The Stalkan economy, worth 728 billion Skas a year, is led by the Cheese Exports industry, with major contributions from Book Publishing, Tourism, and Arms Manufacturing. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 36,438 Skas, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.4 times as much as the poorest.

All gamers have been drafted into the military despite their lack of upper body strength, garden stores are not allowed to sell water butts, carpet bombing has decimated Brasilistan's landscape and population, and Akadians caught jaywalking often have their houses seized by the police. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Stalka's national animal is the Drako, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Stalka is ranked 24,632nd in the world and 923rd in The East Pacific for Most Primitive, scoring 71.41 on the Scary Big Number Scale.
