The Morsist Corpus is the superordinate military force of the Imperial Directorate of Slekomania. It is concerned with all matters of domestic security and war. The Corpus comprises three major military service branches: the Imperial legion, the Imperial armada, and the Imperial Aerospace Command. Furthermore, it also answers for law and order, with the Imperial Police and the Imperial Inquisition under its control. Untouched by governmental bureaucracy, the Corpus holds internal autonomy left unchecked by all governmental entities but the Central Committee, with the Director as the immediate superiour to the Imperial Subjugator, who acts as the active commander of the force.

Dominating nearly every aspect of everyday life, the Morsist Corupus' tentacles burrow deeply into Slekomanian society. No citizen is exempt from traditional military service - without regard for their stance in society. Certainly, the position each citizen has within the hierarchy of the state reflects upon their service, but each conscript is taught the fundamental principles and skills of combat. At later points, if merit so deeds, tier one citizens are separated from tier two citizens. Nonetheless, higher stature is no guarantee to success for the ordinary citizen. However, tier two citizens are categorically restricted from positions within law enforcement, leadership or piloting.

Utilising a strategy of unrestricted and hyper-aggressive shock and awe tactics, the Morsist Corpus is a force to be reckoned with. An unforgiving offensive fuelled by quick attacks which make use of heavy artillery, tank warfare and air superiority are the foundation of Slekomanian military doctrine. The Directorate is notable for its distinctive form of war engineering, which promotes scale, force and intimidation value above all. Colossal dreadnought-like tanks clad in reactive armour plough through battlefields, with two main guns reaping through the enemy. Sometimes this preference is to the Corupus' own detriment, as extravagance overrules functionality. The Morsist Corpus is known to own variable outlandish experimental weaponry.

Chemical and biological warfare are another cornerstone of the grand military doctrine of the Imperial Directorate. Slekomania has a significant stockpile of WMDs, which it uses liberally; with the exception of nuclear warheads, which the state typically restrains from using. The air force operates BioChem-Ships, colloquially known as <<Plague Ships>>, vast airships pumping out noxious gas and disease ridden corpses.

Organisation & Equipment

The Imperial Legion

The Imperial Legion is the Morsist Corpus' service branch, which primarily conducts operations concerned with land warfare. With an active force of 330 million troops it is the largest and most senior service branch in order of precedence. An ArmCom, short for Arm Commander, leads the Imperial Legion. In the Directive Codex, the documentation dictating the establishment of the Morsist Corpus and the Imperial Legion, its purpose is defined as follows:

<<The Imperial Legion is the vanguard for the struggle to dominate and subjugate foreign powers by order of the state, through means of land warfare, to spread the ideals of Morsism and establish the universal law of national Darwinism.>>

Waltari's Tabletalk, page 210

The Imperial Legion fields three types distinct military units within its forces, each with their own duties: elite companies, artillery batteries and mobile squadrons. The three main categories are split into smaller sub-categories.

Elite companies are fierce units fully comprising the Slekomanian army's special forces. They are a light infantry airborne unit, deployed either via parachute or helicopter. Once deployed, they have an approximate marching speed of 110km/d. As a result of these modes of movement, elite companies are indisputably the most mobile units in the Imperial Legion, surpassing the mechanised mobile squadrons. The elite companies use four-bladed twin-turbined HTH (Heavy Transport Helicopter) Botfly transport helicopters, fitted with guided anti-tank missiles, and 12,7mm door operated heavy machine guns. The soldiers are armed with the SLEK19X, a modified version of the standard SLEK19 7,62×39mm Bullpup assault rifle, with additional rails for optics, increased ammo capacity and an integrated grenade launcher. Each platoon also carries anti-tank weaponry and has forward observation capabilities. The strongest weapon of the elite companies is, however, the elite soldiers themselves. Slekomanian Imperial troopers are the product of a strictly controlled eugenics and commando-training program. Bred from the most 'racially pure' Slekomanian's the Imperial troopers are trained, educated and indoctrinated by the military from the very beginning of their life. Furthermore, the troopers undergo grueling combat testing - those that fail to pass are automatically demoted and moved to different duties.

The twin gunned Tarantula-class heavy battle tank.

Artillery batteries coordinate the Imperial Legion's artillery forces. The Imperial Legion's strategy employs massive utilisation of indirect fire, with the artillery doctrine revolving around the use of high-calibre artillery for devastating and destructive effect. Artillery batteries mainly rely on heavy self-propelled howitzers and multiple rocket launcher artillery, with some usage of advanced AI-controlled and vehicle fitted light mortar systems, with MRSI capabilities. The 152mm and 203mm self-propelled howitzers, along with heavy MLRS artillery form the cornerstone of Slekomania's indirect-fire capabilities. Furthermore, the Imperial Legion has an arsenal of ballistic missiles used in liaison with other artillery capabilities.

Mobile squadrons are the mechanised force of the Imperial Legion. Whereas most modern armies have abandoned the concept of heavy tanks, replacing them with the more mobile and tactically flexible main battle tanks, Slekomania continues to use a class of heavy battle tanks in liaison with its standard MBTs. HBT (Heavy Battle Tank) Tarantula is a heavy battle tank, sometimes known as the <<Land Dreadnought>>. It is armed with two smoothbore 122mm cannons as its main guns. Two 12,7mm anti-personnel machine guns are coaxially mounted on the tank, while the commander operates two medium-range surface-to-air launchers fitted on the turret. It is additionally fitted with composite explosive-reactive armour, an active protection system, anti-radar technology as well as countermeasures against electronic warfare. The Tarantula has a total weight of 95 tons. With a hull length of 9 metres, a width of 4,5 metres and a height of 3,8 metres, the Tarantula is exceptionally large. Through the usage of sophisticated AI controlled systems and an autoloader, the tank only requires four crew members to fully operate; a commander, a gunner, a radioman, and a driver.

The Spider-class MBT serves as the Imperial Legion's main battle tank. The Spider is armed with a smoothbore 140mm main gun, along with two coaxially mounted 12,7mm HMGs and a 7,62mm machine gun for the commander. It is fitted with composite explosive-reactive armour, an autoloader, an active protection system and anti-radar mechanics. Its hull length measures at 8,3 metres, its width at 3,5 and its height at 2,7, with a total weight of just above 70 tons. It only requires three crew members. Both the Spider and the Tarantula are capable of using their main guns for indirect fire - furthermore, they are equipped with forward observation programs.

The UHSPSG (Ultra Heavy Self-Propelled Strategic Gun) Behemoth, is the crown jewel of the Imperial Legion's armoured forces. Weighing a total of 22 200 tons, the UHSPSG is based on the designs of enormous bucket-wheel excavators. Powered by an internal nuclear reactor, the Behemoth requires 30 mw to operate. The vehicle has a total length of 180 metres with the gun extended, a width of 56 metres and a height of 46 metres. It moves on six three-row track sections, each with a width of 5,5 metres. With such a large surface area for the tracks, the Behemoth exerts little pressure on the ground, and can move on any type of terrain without leaving significant tracks, with a max speed of 0,9 km/h. However, it also has a massive turning radius of 65 metres, and cannot climb above an incline of 12 degrees. The hull attaches to its tracks by way of a 5 metre thick hydraulic hardened steel centre pin, allowing the chassis to turn 360° without having to move on its tracks. This allows the vehicle to always have its front armour exposed to the direction of possible attacks.

For lack of a better word, the Behemoth is described as an ultra heavy strategic self-propelled gun. It is used for internal defence, low-precision indirect fire and as siege artillery. The Behemoth wields a custom-built 1600 mm 'space gun', capable of firing 14 tonne high-explosive shells at a firing speed of approximately 30 shells an hour. However, the massive pressure each firing exerts on the gun, means that a single barrel can only fire a total of 90 shells before replacement. The gun is so powerful, that it can fire shells into sub-orbital ballistic courses, with ranges of up to 6000 km. As a payoff for its massive range and calibre, the weapon suffers from terrible precision. In fact, it has a CEP of 10 kilometres. The Behemoth is clad in high-thickness Chobham armour, which is part depleted uranium-alloy, complemented by reactive-explosive blocks and an active defence system. As a result of these technologies, the Imperial Directorate claims that the Behemoth is indestructible. As its secondary armaments, the Behemoth includes a total of six 122 mm cannons, three on both ends, eight 20 mm autocannons, four on both sides, 24 vertical cruise missile launchers, and four SAM-launchers in coaxial mounts. Each Metro-Fortress Sector is armed with one UHSPSG. It requires a crew of 50 to properly operate.

The Imperial Armada

The Imperial Armada is the Morsist Corpus' arm responsible for traditional forms of naval warfare. With 140 million active personnel, it is the smallest of the three main service branches of the Slekomanian armed forces. It is lead by an ArmCom.

A Hellfire-class arsenal ship emerging
from the ocean, firing a cruise missile.

Submarine warfare is a cornerstone of the Morsis Corpus' naval strategy. The Imperial Armada possesses a substantial fleet of submarines, or Z-boats (From the Slekomanian Zhukkellusvene, literally meaning <<Dive boat.>>). The SSB (Stealth Submarine) Besvekt Z-boats are the Armada's stealth submarines. Double hulled, powered by a diesel-electric engine and using hydrojet propulsion, the submarine is extremely quiet. Furthermore, the Besvekt has different integrated stealth systems, such as a hydrodynamic hull which reduces noise, sonar, and infrared signature. The hull is covered in antisonar coating, while the mast is made of radar-absorbent material. All of this combined, makes the Besvekt almost impossible to detect. It is equipped with six torpedo tubes and twelve torpedoes, which it is able to fire at a speed of 75 km/h and an operational range of 50 kilometres. The Besvekt measures at 60 metres long and has a displacement of approximately 1600 tons when submerged. It has a crew of 30. While the Besvekt-class is remarkable for its stealth capabilities, the Armada's second submarine, the NSM (Nuclear Submarine) Zhinkko II class nuclear submarine is notable for its vast firepower, althought it too, uses the quieter hydrojet propulsion system. The 100 metre long submarine has stowage for thirty weapons. It carries a mix of heavy Pohjola-type torpedoes, with an operational range of 55 kilometres and a speed of 155 km/h, and long-range Njekkal-cruise missiles, which can hit targets within a few meters, up to a range of 1500 kilometres. The Zhinkko also has twelve ballistic vertical launch systems, from which it can fire the GigaDarwin-type nuclear MIRV. It comes equipped with an integrated active/passive sonar system, which the Directorate boasts as the best in the world. With a full crew of 155 members, the ship can stay submerged for a full month.

The same principles of extravagance, experimentation and power rule within the Imperial Armada, as with all the other branches of the Morsist Corpus. Perhaps the most peculiar feature of the Imperial Armada is its significant usage of AS (Arsenal Ship) Hellfire arsenal ships. These cruisers have smaller crew sizes than ordinary ships, with lowered capabilities for close combat. However, they are fitted with an exceptional number of vertical launch-bays, carrying as many as 600 cruise missiles in total, with the capability to immediately fire said missiles on command. As such, an airstrike from a single Hellfire arsenal ship can have a decisive effect on any battle. The arsenal ship is fitted with variable stealth technologies, including its dynamically shaped hull intended to minimise infrared and sonar signature, antisonar coating and the ability to submerge into the surrounding ocean for elongated periods of time.

Slekomania has many aircraft carriers, the most spectacular of which is the Waltari X, named after the dictator of the Slekomanian Directorate. The SBC (Superbattlecarrier) Waltari X, or <<Sea Fortress>> has a total length of 420 metres, a weight of 135 000 tons with full cargo, a crew of 3300 and enough space for 70 aircraft, including fighter jets and helicopters. The Waltari X-superbattlecarrier is differentiated from traditional aircraft carriers by its substantial combat abilities. Whereas aircraft carriers have limited offensive capabilities, a battlecarrier possesses a monumental arsenal of different weaponry. The increased number of armaments comes at a heavy cost; if the carrier were only equipped with traditional defensive systems, the aircraft capacity could be increased by 30. However, the Waltari X makes use of sophisticated electromagnetic launching systems and arresting gear, shortening the runways, which allows more space efficiency. Battlecarriers are also designed to work as amphibious assault ships, with accommodations for a marine expeditionary force with a size of 1000. The SBC Waltari X comes equipped with the following:

• Defense systems
• 6x Missile launcher system designed to counter supersonic anti-ship missiles Can also be targeted at other ships.
• 2x Infrared missile launcher system designed to counter cruise missiles Can also be targeted at other ships.
• 4x Radar-controlled 20mm cannon close-in weapon system able to automatically counter missiles, artillery fire, mortars and helicopters; fires armour-piercing tungsten rounds. Can also be targeted at other ships.
• 2x Super-rapid decoy mortar, designed to shoot laser decoys, scrambling the homing systems of missiles.
• Kannel-combat system, designed to track and recognise targets, and automate both offensive and defensive systems.
• Offense systems
• 1x Vertical ballistic missile launch system, capable of firing the nuclear MIRV warhead, GigaDarwin.
• 6x Cruise missile launchers.
• 1x 500mm naval supergun, high explosive rounds.
• 6x 400mm naval guns, high explosive shells.
• 15x 70 cal. anti-aircraft guns.

The BC (Battlecarrier) Waltari C is the so called 'light' version of the Waltari X-sea fortress. While the C-type has the same defensive systems, it has no cruise missile launchers, and it replaces the 15 anti-aircraft guns with with just four. In addition, it does not have the 500mm 'supergun', and only two 400mm cannons as its main weaponry. This allows the Waltari C to have a decreased length of 375 metres, a weight of 110 000 tonnes and a crew capacity of 2950. Nonetheless, the C-type can carry a total of 70 aircraft, the same amount of as the X-type.

The SC (Supercarrier) Waltari B is the 'non-combatative' version of the Waltari-X. The only offensive system it retains, are two 70 cal. anti-aircraft guns. As the ship is effectively a traditional aircraft carrier, but with the massive size of the Waltari X, the B-type is capable of carrying an exceptional 100 aircraft. Nonetheless, it is still lighter than the superbattlecarrier, and is able to operate with a crew of 3100, in comparison to the Waltari X's 3300.

OTZO-CRUISER ARMAMENTS
• 4x 122mm rapid-fire naval gun
• 2x Radar-controlled 20mm autocannon close-in weapon system.
• 16x Torpedo tubes fitted for heavy Pohjola-type torpedoes.
• 4x Anti-air surface to air missile (SAM) launchers.
• 2x Infrared missile launcher system designed to counter cruise missiles.
• 100x Vertical launching system. Anti-air, anti-ship, anti-submarine, indirect fire.

The Imperial Armada has a fleet of supportive warships for differing duties, such as minesweeping, acting as a convoy, and above all, anti-submarine warfare. The Otzo-class cruiser is the Armada's main warship. It has a crew capacity of 170, a length of 180 metres, and a displacement of 12 000 tons. Equipped with the Kannel-combat system designed for the Waltari sea-fortress, the Otzo cruiser can utilise its combat systems, both offensive and defensive, with great efficiency. Anti-submarine warfare in an important task for the cruisers; as such, they are equipped with highly improved sonar. With four gas turbines, the cruiser uses COGAG (Combined Gas Turbine and Gas Turbine) propulsion to achieve speeds of up to 60 km/h. The Otzo has enough space to carry two attack helicopters. The shape and structure of the ship has been designed to diminish radar and infrared signature.

The second main warship the Armada holds in its fleet is the MC (Modular Corvette) Beetle. Beetles are a light, manoeuvrable and tactically flexible warship. They can be fitted with different and varying technologies and armaments, in the form of 'operative modules'. With these technological modules, the corvette can perform minesweeping, anti-air operations and anti-submarine operations. The corvette heavily employs unmanned vehicles and air support, as it has enough space to fit a helicopter on its deck. It has a crew of 50 members, a length of 110 metres, a displacement of 3000 tons and a top speed of 80 km/h. Its armaments vary, but the ship has a built in 12mmm naval gun, and the same close-in-weapons-sytem as the Otzo. In addition to this, the ship can drop depth charges and fire torpedoes. With an amphibious attack module, the ship can accommodate an additional 70 troops.

The AAS (Amphibious Assault Ship) Centipede is designed to carry an expeditionary force of 2000, which can rapidly deploy ashore via helicopter, while being supported by the fighter jets the ship carries. The Centipede itself has a weight of 45 tons, a maximum speed of 45 km/h, a length of 260 metres and capacity to carry 30 aircraft. Additionally, it has an inner bay, from which it can deploy landing craft. Two 20mm radar-controlled CIWS provide the ship with an active defence system, which is complemented by eight manual 12,7mm HMGs, two surface-to-air infrared-homing missile launchers and two antiship homing missile launchers. As its main gun, the ship uses a fearsome 12mmm naval artillery cannon, with indirect and direct firing capacity.

Imperial Aerospace Command

The Imperial Aerospace Command (IAC) is the Morsist Corpus' air wing. It concerned with all matters relating to warfare in the air and dominance of space. With 190 million active personnel, the IAC is the second largest of Slekomania's military service branches. It is lead by an ArmCom.

Through the employment of the IAC, the Corpus seeks to dominate the battlefield with overwhelming air superiority. With its fleets of strategic bombers and cargo ships, the IAC provides the Morsist Corpus with global mobility and global air strike capabilities. In addition to its autonomous operations, the IAC performs joint operations with both the Imperial Armada and the Imperial Legion. Cyberspace operations are another fundamental part of the Aerospace Command. Its missions of air and space superiority are accomplished with superior quantity and quality of equipment.

The BioChem-CAS (Combat Airship) or <<Plague Ship>> (from the Slekish 'Ruttolaiva') has extreme strategic value to the Imperial Aerospace Command's operations. Weighing in at 220 tons with full cargo and with an astounding length of 310 metres, the rigid combat airship is covered in a lightweight electromagnetic reactive armour, which is further safeguarded by an active-protection system comprising eight radar-automated 20mm CIWS. Eight jet engines, powered by the same nuclear reactor as the Waltari X-class superbattlecarrier, help to keep the helium-filled ship afloat, while still achieving top speeds of up to 200 km/h. The BioChem-CAS functions as an airborne aircraft carrier with the capacity to carry up to nine Annihilator-class fighter jets in its internal bay, as well as a spectacular war machine, with a lethal array of armaments. The plague ship is, above all, used as a devastating biological and chemical-weapons bomber, corrupting enemy lines with disease-ridden corpses and canisters of lethal nerve gas, with a terrifying effect on morale. These capabilities for biological and chemical warfare are complemented by the immense 205mm cannon mounted on the ship's bottom, and six manually operated 30mm autocannons. The ship operates on a crew of 100 troops, with a expeditionary unit complement of 100. Plague ships, when required, can undertake traditional missions of strategic bombing, with internal capacity for a total of sixty bombs.

ATSP-WASP
• Weight: 133kg.
• Payload: 1x 40kg high-explosive warhead.
• Engine: 1x rotary engine.
• Max-speed: 180 km/h OR 215 km/h at nose dive.
• Ammo capacity: 60 rounds.
• Engine life: 6h
• Operational range: 320km
• Targeting system: Anti-radar homing OR autonomous electro-optical targeting OR Operator-confirmed electro-optical targeting AND MORS geo-location
The IAC further employs its airship technology with the UCAVMS-CAS (Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle Mothership-Combat Airship) <<Hiveship>>, which at a weight of 110 tons with full cargo and a size of 220 metres, applies the plague ship's basic framework on a significantly smaller platform. Like the plague ship, it is protected by electromagnetic-reactive armour, an active protection system comprising eight 20mm CIWS. The hiveship, too, is powered by nuclear energy, but requires a smaller influx of power to maintain its internal mechanics and the four jet engines which help to keep it afloat. The hiveship's primary purpose is to act as a carrier for the ATSM (Autonomously Target-Seeking Munition) Wasp, a lightweight unmanned combat aerial vehicle, or more specifically, loitering munition. The Wasp is an autonomous warhead, which is equipped with a heavy 12,7mm anti-personnel machine gun. It is programmed to recognize enemies, and will engage lighter targets with its heavy machine gun, or alternatively self-destruct into heavier targets in a Kamikaze attack. If there are no targets to engage, a deployed Wasp will loiter in the battlefield for up to six hours, after which it will attach to the hiveship's electromagnetic surface, charging itself in approximately 30 minutes. When not deployed, the Wasps will swarm around the hiveship, passively feeding off its electromagnetic radiation, maintaining their battery charge. If out of ammo, but not self-destructed, the Wasp will enter the hiveship's maintenance bay, where the crew has to manually load it. The hiveship is armed with a total of 100 Wasps. The hiveship also operates as a strategic carpet bomber, with internal capacity for sixty unguided bombs. The hiveship's secondary purpose is that of an electronic-warfare aircraft. The UCAVMS's integrated jamming system is capable of intercepting, processing and jamming received radio signals, which can then be identified and located, with the signals intelligence being transmitted to the ATSM-Wasp horde, which will target said signals. A crew of 140 is required to operate the UCAVMS.

The FJ (Fighter Jet) Annihilator fifth-generation fighter jet is the IAC's standard air-to-air combat plane. The twin engined jet has a maximum speed of 1900 km/h, an empty weight of 15 tons and an operational range of 2000 kilometres. The Annihilator is designed to have supercruise, supermanoeuvrability, advanced avionics, and stealth capabilities. Its armaments are: a 30mm rotary gun, and twelve hardpoints for carrying different varities of missiles, and precision-guided bombs.

While the Aerospace Command's strategic bombing capacities often revolve around its combat airship fleet, two classes of strategic bombers are further employed by the force, to maintain capabilities for global airstrikes and global mobility. The HSB (Heavy Stealth Bomber) Meckoria11, named to commemmorate the occupation and extermination of the Mecorian nation in 2011, is the Morsist Corpus' stealth bomber. The Meckoria11 is designed in a flying-wing configuration made of lightweight radar-absorbent carbon-composite material, which minimizes its radar signature and provides the bomber with great range. Its four engines are contained within the fuselage of its wings, minimising possible exhaust signature and noise. With a wingspan of 85 metres and an empty weight of 90 tons, the HSB-Meckoria11 is extraordinarily large for a stealth bomber. Despite its grand size, the plane's four turbojet engines maintain a maximum speed of 1000 km/h at the normal flight altitude of 12,2 kilometres. With a full ordnance and payload of 21 000 kg, comprising such armaments as 91x 230 kg unguided general purpose bombs, 21x 1000kg heavy general purpose bombs, or even 16x Darwin-class thermonuclear bombs, the Meckoria11 has an operational range of 11 000 km. The bomber is additionally mounted with four air-to-surface precision missiles, which the internal defence system is able to employ as an active-defence system.

A MORS-Louhy detaching its
hypersonic cruise-missile.
The HB (Heavy Bomber) Moth is a supersonic, crescent-wing heavy strategic bomber. It is powered by four afterburn turbofan-engines, which allow the plane to achieve speeds of up to 2000 km/h, with a full cargo-weight of 260. The bomber has a wingspan of 80 metres and can carry a payload of 65 tons. Two rotary 6x air-to-air cruise-missile launchers function as the plane's stand-off guns. A wide array of munitions can be carried by the moth, such as 144x MORS-guided general purpose bombs, 24x heavy cruise missiles, 84x seamines, or even 24x MegaDarwin-class thermonuclear bombs. Coated in radar-absorbent materials and designed to diminish radar-cross-section, the Moth is surprisingly stealthy for a large non-stealth bomber.

Capable of carrying two fully equipped mobile squadrons, the CP (Cargo Plane) Lycosida is a powerfully efficient transport craft, with intercontinental range and a maximum speed of 1100 km/h. The colossal Lycosida, has a loaded weight of 380 tons, and can transport a total of 1200 passengers. It can effectively move any type of military combat equipment the Morsist Corpus holds.

The MORS (Military Operated Rampart Satellite) is a robust exo-atmospheric multi-purpose satellite system, comprising a triplex of distinct satellite constellations; MORS-Ukko, MORS-Vaynamo, and MORS-Louhy, named after the ancient Slekomanian sky deity, epic sage, and mythic queen respectively. Comprising 22 satellites in 3 orbital planes at an altitude of 23,2 kilometres and a period of ~14 hours, the MORS-Ukko provides the Morsist Corpus with high-precision global navigation FDMA-data with an approximate accuracy of 5 cm. Setting the framework for the future of the MORS-system, the Ukko was the first model of the MORS-project. Effectively an Imperial reiteration of already-existent GNSS, MORS was launched out of necessity, rather than desire; the Slekomanian state has been excommunicated from using foreign GNSS-information due to its jingoistic international policy.

Following the effectiveness of the Ukko, the MORS-Vaynamo intelligence, communactions and earth-observation satellite-system was launched in 2020. From an altitude of 800 km, the 32-satellite 6-orbital plane constellation provides the Morsist Corpus with global high-definition photo intelligence, capabilities to intercept stray radio-signals, synthetic-aperture-radar imaging, and detection and recognition of ICBM courses.

The final incarnation of the project is the MORS-Louhy project, has a constellation of 32 regionally geosynchronous strategic defence satellites above the Slekomanian state, in a highly elliptical quasi-zenith orbit, or so called tundra orbit. It is intended to function as a secondary measure for recognition of inbound ICBMs in case of failure on the primary recognition process of the MORS-Vaynamo, and as a first level defence system. A ground-track of the Louhy-costellation's orbit draws a closed figure-eight on a flat map, with the northern loop smaller than the southern. The Louhy-satellite is a hypersonic air-to-air cruise missile latched onto a solar-powered capsule. Ideally, the MORS-Vaynamo will recognise a launched ICBM, process its ballistic course, and transmit the data to the Louhy-constellation. Upon receiving the ballistic information, a number of capsules will unlatch their cruise missiles, which will engage the target at speeds exceeding Mach 5, ideally before the MIRV can even be deployed. Additionally, the missile capsules are fitted with anti-radar homing software and an autonomous electro-optical cortex, which can identify approaching MIRVs, transmit the identification to Earth-bound missile systems while using their internal cruise missiles to destroy the payload - all without human involvement.

No civil law enforcement agency exists in Slekomania. As such, enforcement of social order and civil integrity falls under the jurisdiction of the Imperial Police, a gendarmerie-miltiary police force, which functions as an independent service branch of the Morsist Corpus. There is neither a written constitution, nor traditional codefied law for the Imperial Police to enforce. Instead, the Central Committee-published Social Codex, a collection of documentation differentiating social infringements and their respective punishments, as well as guidelines dictating the force's mission purpose, is used as the basis for the Imperial Police's operations. While the Social Codex includes robust list of enforcable guidelines for the police to follow, it also contains philosophical concepts and ideas the Police is tasked with upholding. These idealogical statements are used as a basis for inflicting 'extra-judicial' punishment on citizens who might display some type of 'anti-social' behaviour, such as low productivity or the wrong facial expression, while not having committed any real infringements. As no judiciary exists in the Directorate, detained citizens are automatically assumed to be guilty, and are subject to indefinite administrative detention arbitrated by their local governments.

Crowd control is a fundamental duty of the Imperial Police. Collective punishment is one of the primary re-educative actions the Imperial Police instills unto the general populace, and even the slightest rumour of dissidence will unconditionally lead to the extermination of the entire surrounding block, with victims numbering in the thousands. Most of the Imperial Police's work is pre-emptive, as the citizenry is not only dissuaded from rebellion by the brutality of the state, but they are indoctrinated into believing that those who suffer this brutality truly deserve it.

Morsist Slekomania is a totalitarian police state, with the Imperial Police as the greatest bulwark of its internal stability. To qualify for this highly trained elite police force, the applicant must have an impeccable civil record, T1 racial purity, and must have completed either non-commissioned officer or reserve-officer training during their conscription. Following admittance into the force, the applicant goes through another 1,5 year training programme, which includes gruelling training, both physical and psychological. After finishing the initial training programme, the applicant will be deployed into the field for an additional 6 month evaluation period. Once this entire 2 year period is finished, the applicant will be formally accepted into the Imperial Police.

Through directive from the State or the local government, the Imperial Police has the capacity to act as an internal defence force for the Directorate. With a ratio of 20 citizens for each unit, a standard Metro-Fortress has a potential quick-response garrison (QRG) of 900 000 reserve personnel, with an additional 6,5 million reserve personnel in the Metro-Fortress's citizenry. Naturally, each fortress contains enough combat equipment for the QRG to organise into a complete army group, further complemented by a variable amount of reserve personnel from tiered citizens.

The Imperial Police also serve as guards in the Directorate's labour sectors, with the same capacity to deploy as a QRG if needed. As assignment to a labour-sector is a form of punishment for the general populace, the sector's Imperial Police undertake their duties less as enforcers of civil integrity and Morsist notions of society, but more as crowd-controllers, and overseers of order and productivity.

The Imperial Inquisition

The Imperial Inquisition is the Morsist Corpus' intelligence service and secret police. In its functon as a secret police entity, it establishes an in-depth map of internal intelligence through means of heavy surveillance and monitoring - furthermore, it produces misinformation to control those it monitors. They seek pre-emptive signs of possible dissident activities or thoughts, and collect information regarding these suspiciouns from their vast networks of civil-informants. The inquisition does not reward these informants for their loyalty - rather, they deliver harsh negative incentive to those that fail to report anti-social behaviour.

Agents or <<Inquisitors>> of the Imperial Inquisition are former members of the Imperial Police, who have, after at least five years of active service, applied for the Inquisition and passed the qualification process. Those admitted into the force must pass a 1-year course, which mainly concentrates on topics of intelligence, surveillance, electronic warfare and Morsist theory. The course prepares the agents for both internal and foreign intelligence operations.

Military Service

Conscription

The Imperial Directorate mandates that every Slekomanian citizen from the ages of 7 to 60 belongs to the personnel of the Morsist Corpus, with compulsed national military service until the age of 19 or 21, with reserve service until retirement at the age of 60. The obligation for national service is non-discriminatory and only those suffering from judicial punishment are exempt from conscription. The conscription system is semi-meritocratic, and allows a certain overlap between tiers to occur within its ranks. Additionally, a higher tier is never a guarantee of higher position in the Morsist Corpus.

Conscription in the Directorate starts at the exceptionally young age of just 7. Indeed, such a young child cannot effectively act as a soldier. The education system cannot be distinguished from the military system of the state - hence, it is purely stratocratic. This early military-education system instils the children with the values and morals of the Directorate, while beginning to mold them into fitting soldiers from a young age, with a very hard emphasis on physical education and leadership training put on the children from their very first days of schooling. The military school-system functions, for lack of a better word, as a boarding school, with conscripts having absolutely no contact into the outside world for the entirety of their service.

Although T2 citizens are restricted from rank advancement and high-skill duties such as piloting, the Corpus' semi-meritocratic system may grant them access to privileges and duties their social stature would typically restrict, such as electronic warfare operating, engineering or even research and development, if their skills and capabilities are fitting. In fact, a T2 citizen who shows high physical or especially intellectual merit, may be indefinitely drafted into the active personnel of the military, where they may enjoy privileges even the ordinary T1 citizenry may not always be permitted.

The national service is split into four or five phases, with the fifth phase only for qualifying T1 citizens.

PHASE NUMBER

PHASE PURPOSE

AGE

PHASE 1

Early education: Basic education, instillation of military values and physical fitness, early evaluation.

7-11

PHASE 2

Further Education: Intermediate education, and more emphasis on physical prowess

12-14

PHASE 3

Military Service: The conscripts are separated based on their merit during the first two phases, and are assigned a future wartime duty, for which they will begin training.

15-16

PHASE 4

Deployment: The conscripts are deployed into the field, to practice their wartime duties - often in actual war.

17-19

PHASE 5

High-skill Course: Those T1 citizens chosen into high-skill duties in phase 3 will serve additional time in deployment, practising their duties.

20-21

Rank structure

The Imperial Directorate applies a unique naming system to the higher ranks of the Morsist Corpus' inner hierarchy. General ranks have been abolished, with the highest possible rank being that of 'Strategos.' Strategii in command of larger military units will only hold a positional 'rank', which is subject to being withdrawn by the central committee at any given moment. The system exists to diminish the notion of individual achievement and entitlement.

Military Doctrine

Strategic Doctrine

<< Shock: The Morsist Corpus must unconditionally seek to shock the target. Not only should an operation completely surprise the enemy, but also create a state of absolute confusion and hysteria within its forces. An overwhelming utilisation of the Corpus's assets is paramount to shock; a massive onslaught of heavy and high-intensity indirect fire, air superiority by way of vast armoured airships, combined with a relentless armoured assault creates an unstoppable offensive. Morsist tactics must emphasise aggression, lethality and control, inciting terror in the opponent. With superior training, preparation and equipment, the enemy can be easily defeated. >>

<< Rapidity: Operational forces must be rapidly mobilised, and practice tactical principles of blitz-like advancement. The enemy should be kept oblivious to the direction of the attack as long as possible. In function, this can be achieved through airborne deployment behind enemy lines, attacking from multiple directions, or other unorthodox modes of assault. There must be flexibility in the chain of command, allowing small units to carry out operations autonomously, permitting quick ground-level decision-making. Ideally, the Morsist Corpus will mobilise its forces with such rapidity, that the enemy cannot establish any practical defences.>>

<< Support: No decisive battle should comprise just one arm of the Morsist Corpus. Optimally, each asset of the Corpus will act as one joint-entity, with each individual resource of the entity being virtually indistinguishable from one another. Aggressive and seamless combination of arms creates a powerful force.>>

<< Destruction: In war, there are no civilians. Each individual of the enemy nation is somehow participating in the war effort. The enemy must be brought to heel, by way of complete annihilation. All that the Morsist Corpus can touch, is to be razed, destroyed and annihilated. "Collateral damage" is nothing but rhetoric. >>

Tactical Doctrine

<< Aggression: Rapid advancement and energetic use of firepower can easily overwhelm the enemy, forcing them to fall back. There is no need for frugality in ammunition consumption, instead ammo should be used liberally, forcing the enemy on the defensive. Unless otherwise specified, the Corpus must always be on the offensive. >>

<< Lethality: The Morsist Corpus always seeks to destroy and kill. The principle of lethality goes hand in hand with the principle of aggression. No restraint should be practised when attacking. Heavy artillery, heavy armoured forces, and airship technology must be used to tear apart the enemy's defenses - and the enemy itself. When a unit shoots, it shoots to kill. >>

<< Control: During combat, the Morsist Corpus must always stay in control and hold the initiative. This is, in many ways, achieved through the two former tactical principles, and the strategic doctrine. When Imperial forces are lethal, aggressive and take the enemy by surprise, it retains control. The offensive can never be diminished into a weak defensive, which simply responds to the enemy's attacks. Instead, each attempt of an attack by the enemy, must be answered with an exponentially stronger counter-attack. When an overwhelming offensive is executed with total control, the enemy has no time to gather its forces, regain composure, or begin a counter-attack.>>

Weapons of mass destruction

<< The Imperial Directorate cannot be frugal with its use of weapons of mass destruction. They are but another device to accelerate the evolutionary process. In fact, they are a worderfully efficient device at that. Certainly, wisdom must be practised in our employment of such resources, as not all other nations share this view. Additionally, total nuclear annihilation is not in the interest of the future of human progress, and such an event must be avoided at all costs.>>

Waltari's Tabletalk, page 245

The Morsist Corpus wields vast stockpiles of WMDs, including potent nerve gases, biological weapons, radiological weapons and highly developed nuclear warheads, which every brigade-level military entity able to deploy. Chemical and biological weapons, such as mustard gas and weaponized plague, are a standard asset of Slekomania's BioChem-fleets. A unique WMD developed by the Imperial Directorate is the so called 'Orbital Ablation Cascade Catalyst'. The 8 ton OACC is launched into space, where it will self-destruct and fragment at an altitude of some 785 kilometres. The debris caused by its fragmentation will collide with surrounding satellites, generating more debris, eventually cascading into a situation where low-Earth-orbit is completely saturated with space debris. Furthermore, Slekomania has a so called 'genetically targeted bio-weapon' in development.
