The United Kingdom of Silloam is a huge, socially progressive nation, ruled by King William II with an even hand, and remarkable for its keen interest in outer space, pith helmet sales, and sprawling nuclear power plants. The hard-nosed, hard-working population of 849 million Silloamers are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The tiny, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Oshkosh. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 3.5%.

The powerhouse Silloamian economy, worth 109 trillion dollars a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Retail industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Arms Manufacturing, and Information Technology. Average income is an impressive 128,615 dollars, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 428,079 per year while the poor average 28,794, a ratio of 14.9 to 1.

Whales in captivity live in little more than glorified goldfish bowls, oracles predict landslide victories for King William II for the next 50 years, warfare increasingly resembles a video game, and wind farms are erected on shuttered oil platforms. Crime is moderate, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. Silloam's national animal is the golden cicada, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Silloam is ranked 113,189th in the world and 5,453rd in The North Pacific for Most Authoritarian, with 0.11 Stalins.
