The Borderlands of Saltita is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Pijudo with an iron fist, and notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape, unlimited-speed roads, and smutty television. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.621 billion Salteñoes are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

The relatively small, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Education, Defense, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Orán. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 34.4%.

The frighteningly efficient Saltitan economy, worth 296 trillion Golds a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Retail, and Uranium Mining. Black market activity is extensive. Average income is an impressive 182,861 Golds, but there is a large disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 750,515 per year while the poor average 29,415, a ratio of 25.5 to 1.

Bemused citizens are encouraged to sing foreign-language hymns of religions they have never heard of, giant no-kill traps baited with Bapst Red Ribbon and vintage bicycles have been popping up in back alleys nationwide, all footpaths have tollbooths, and boys who take just one date to the high school prom are called 'losers'. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Saltita's national animal is the Condor, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution, and its national religion is Folcklore.

Saltita is ranked 6,030th in the world and 15th in The Kingdom of Great Britain for Largest Furniture Restoration Industry, scoring 6,710.89 on the Spitz-Pollish Productivity Index.
