The United Kingdom of Royal Genes is a colossal, socially progressive nation, ruled by Queen Adela with a fair hand, and notable for its ubiquitous missile silos, public floggings, and multi-spousal wedding ceremonies. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 9.629 billion Génoise are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The tiny, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Industry, Education, and Defense. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Genes. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 3.8%.

The frighteningly efficient Génois economy, worth a remarkable 1,440 trillion Dérrals a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Gambling industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Retail, and Book Publishing. Average income is an impressive 149,634 Dérrals, but there is a large disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 652,861 per year while the poor average 21,671, a ratio of 30.1 to 1.

International collectors know that a grease-stain on a work of art probably means it's passed through Royal Genes, kids these days know how to throw a proper punch, the national anthem's only purpose is to inflate Queen Adela's ever-expanding ego, and religious education is a new government priority. Crime is moderate, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Royal Genes's national animal is the Golden Eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution.

Royal Genes is ranked 23,701st in the world and 3rd in Meillur for Most Cultured, scoring 79 on the Snufflebottom-Wiggendum Pentatonic Scale.
