Constantine Malachite - Rhanukhan's Most Wanted Hero

Criminal name: Constantine Malachite, Owner/Chairman of Malachite Evolving Enterprises, Provincial Governor of Lehpuhrta and Currakhan (possibly a.k.a. Chonmiklatt of the Symyano)

Crime (Explain):
The Rhanukhani National Security Agency originally arrested Constantine Malachite just days before the Symyano invasion of 2008 on a charge of treason after collecting evidence that he was involved in a number of major incidents over the previous months.

During the war with the Symyano, further evidence came to light implying that he may have been one of their advance infiltrators, who would have been active on the planet ahead of the main fleet, undermining society. This latter was never proven, however, and Malachite is known to have remained active even after the deployment of a global weapon which killed Symyano infiltrators by forcibly disconnecting their mental links with their human avatars.

Early GeneTech Banana Infantryman research is believed to be behind the "yellow zombie" plague/banalite virus that affected the Eruhani Ocean area in early 2008, thus rendering Malachite indirectly responsible for the deaths of the first wave of Lazarastran colonists as well as servicemen of Nohvrakishnaplermta's Alpha Outpost and the crew of the Glerican aircraft carrier, Liberation.

He is believed to be responsible for instigating the colony of Lazarastra's attempt to gain independence as a cover for the early development of the GeneTech Banana Infantryman project.

He is also believed to have abducted 1,700,000 Lazarastran colonists during the ensuing military actions and used them as the basis for the first batch of GBI-1 clone soldiers.

He is attributed with the sinking of the NDRNS Phoenix, purely in order to dispose of journalist, Gabriel Matthews, who had claimed publicly to be carrying evidence about the origins of the "yellow zombie" plague/banalite virus.

He is responsible for the global proliferation of GBI-2 covert agents whose current loyalties are unknown and who remain untraceable among the regular human population.

He is also suspected to be responsible for the destruction of the space shuttle, Diligence, as the opening gambit of his corporate takeover of the Rhanukhani Space Program.

Malachite and a team of his GBI-2 agents rescued His Resplendence, the Supreme Chairman from an assassination attempt by Alrabustt of the Symyano, who had for some years posed as the Rhanukhani foreign minister, Allistair Ballustrade. As a result, the Supreme Chairman withheld the warrant for Malachite's arrest during the war with the Symyano because of the invaluable assistance he provided.

His level of preparedness for dealing with the Symyano invasion (several of the crimes he is suspected of appear directly connected with preparing a suitable level of defence) and the fact that the alien Fleetmaster once publicly denounced him as a traitorous advance infiltrator both added to the speculation about his origins at the time.

Immediately following the destruction of the Symyano Highmaster, however, the warrant was reissued and a large Rhanukhani National Security Agency (RNSA) taskforce was airlifted to Malachite's HQ, the flying island of Lehpuhrta, with orders to make a discreet arrest (the citizens of the nation were loudly praising Malachite as a hero for his prominent role in the victory at this point). The attempt proved anything but discreet when, on live national television, the entire island disappeared in a spectacular pyrotechnic display as the RNSA aerocarriers approached and was never seen again.

Age: 42 (speculative - all his public records pre-dating 2005 have been found to be forgeries, adding weight to the supposition that he is indeed one of the Symyano advance infiltrators)

Note: Although no physical trace of Malachite has been found since the day he vanished, there is suggested to be evidence that the island of Lehpuhrta travelled back in time and was responsible for the founding of the Ahztlarhan civilization - a precursor of the ancient Rhanukhii tribe who founded Rhanukhan itself. Certain wilder conspiracy theorists have drawn parallels between the names of people either believed or known to have been on the flying island and the "New Gods" from the "Land Beyond the Clouds" who seemed to appear from nowhere and brought the trappings of civilization to the ancient Ahztlarhani. Along with Malachite himself and his GBI-1 and GBI-2 personnel, there is speculation that the respected archaeologist Doctor Henry Phone was present, as well as the fugitives Professor Lucy Sideboard and Doctor Peter Wallclock (using the pseudonym "Bruce Spanner" when last sighted). Naturally, these wild notions are only entertained by the more extreme conspiracy theorists and the official story is that the island was utterly destroyed by a fault with one its many advanced weapon systems.

The RNSA secretly maintains its warrant for Constantine Malachite's arrest but the public are left to believe in the image of him as the hero who led the world's defence against the Symyano. Many questions about this enigmatic individual will probably never be answered satisfactorily.
