The Commonwealth of Qeta is a massive, socially progressive nation, renowned for its flagrant waste-dumping, ritual sacrifices, and ubiquitous missile silos. The hard-nosed, hard-working, humorless, devout population of 1.181 billion Qetans are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The minute, corrupt, pro-business government, or what there is of one, is solely concerned with Industry. Income tax is unheard of.

The frighteningly efficient Qetan economy, worth 255 trillion Dollars a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Retail industry, with major contributions from Gambling, Soda Sales, and Uranium Mining. Average income is an amazing 216,761 Dollars, but there is a vast disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 1,440,532 per year while the poor average 12,461, a ratio of 115 to 1.

Citizens who leave the country are officially classed as traitors, children who can't memorize their multiplication tables are sent to the mines, the new foreign policy is "why bother invading neighbours when they can be bought wholesale?", and senior citizens can usually be found doing heavy manual labour. Crime, especially youth-related, is all-pervasive, probably because of the absence of a police force. Qeta's national animal is the lion, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Qeta is ranked 15,173rd in the world and 11th in Selene for Most Subsidized Industry, scoring 5,278.33 on the Gilded Widget Scale.
