Pheu pronounced as /piɐ̃/ is an insular nation in the Gulf of Siam, it has been able to maintain its independence for centuries and transformed itself in a tax-haven and major tourist hub which made the living standards in the island skyrocket in just two decades.
Other important economic sectors are petrol and natural gas refining, ship repairs, re-export and offshore natural gas extraction.
The nation is mainly composed of its capital and only major city and its suburbs and satellite towns, 80 % of the population lives in urban areas.
Pheu is served by the Pheu International Airport which is the only airport in the whole country and functions as both a civilian and military structure.
The road system is well developed and private vehicles are the preferred way of transit especially outside the capital city and Khangmeung as public transport outside of the Metropolitan area is scarce.
