The People's Republic of Peyterkia is a massive, safe nation, renowned for its ubiquitous missile silos, irreverence towards religion, and punitive income tax rates. The compassionate, democratic population of 2.21 billion Peyterkians are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The enormous government juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Education, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Septinburg. The average income tax rate is 76.4%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The strong Peyterkian economy, worth 145 trillion Karts a year, is quite specialized and mostly made up of the Trout Farming industry, with significant contributions from Pizza Delivery and Uranium Mining. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 65,832 Karts, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Private pharmacies close down as medicinal drugs are given away freely by the government, group hugs break out during floor votes, the national security service are a bunch of crooks, and on-duty Air Peyterkia flight attendants are usually seen napping in first class. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Peyterkia's national animal is the East Norefarian Bear, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Peyterkia is ranked 41,229th in the world and 60th in Northern Utopia for Most Developed, scoring 60.21 on the Human Development Index.
