APSIA Security Council

Association of Political States and International Affairs
Official Notice

The Proposal

Since it's inception several decades ago, the APSIA (Association of Political States and International Affairs) seeked unity among the nations of the world, attempting to bind them under the common banner of humanity. While many nations are a member of the intergovernmental organization, several are reluctant to partake in the increasing globalization of the modern world. However, people of the world have seen the war crimes committed by the combatants of the Great Balkan War, the economic sanctions placed on other nations for apparently unjust reasons, undue militarization, random threats of war, etc., etc.

After witnessing these crimes committed by governments against governments, several globalist and progressive elements of the APSIA administration, led by Chinese intelligence officer Shu Liu, decided to pursue many major reforms to the key administrative body of APSIA. Formerly, the APSIA's main purpose was running the APSIA International Headquarters in Svallbard. Within this HQ were chambers for diplomacy, international trade, and so on. Following these reforms, the purpose of APSIA has been expanded to contain a few more purposes.

The Security Council

The first major push by the progressive clique was the establishment of a Security Council. Members of the Security Council propose and vote on resolutions regarding war, human rights violations, or economic interventions. The APSIASC consists of 15 members at all times. 7 of the members are permanent members, based on their economic power and regional power.

In addition along the permanent members are 8 temporary members, who switch out every 2 years and lack the power to veto. These nations are randomly selected. The 2028-2030 temporary members are as follows:

    • Ubizytotska

    • Senatos

    • Langstadt

    • Vanavoy

    • West malikay

    • Greater aryanistan

    • Piraterram

    • Alorn

The Security Council will meet in the APSIA International Headquarters whenever an international concern is raised. Resolutions generally involve demands, sanctions, or sometimes military intervention. A hypothetical example of a Security Council resolution would be as follows:

    • Senatos and Narnagaesia have a territorial dispute over Eastern Thrace.

    • To prevent escalation of the dispute into warfare, the Security Council comes together to solve the dispute.

    • One SC member formulates a proposal that would place economic sanctions onto Senatos from all agreeing SC nations until Senatos renounces their territorial claims

    • The resolution passes with 8 votes for yes, 2 abstentions, and 5 votes for no.

    • With 8 major nations putting economic pressure onto Senatos, they renounce their claims on Eastern Thrace and the situation has been solved peacefully.

Next expansion TBA
