The Dunavian Republic of Malban is a colossal, orderly nation, ruled by Provisional Governor Ivan Georgiev with an iron fist, and remarkable for its flagrant waste-dumping, sprawling nuclear power plants, and public floggings. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 6.413 billion Malbanics are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The relatively small, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Healthcare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Revanciano. The average income tax rate is 12.9%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The strong Malbanian economy, worth 502 trillion Dunavs a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, broadly diversified black market in Uranium Mining, Arms Manufacturing, Retail, and Gambling. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 78,434 Dunavs, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The new biography of Provisional Governor Ivan Georgiev is subtitled "How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Hate the Bomb", shoppers have literally had their hands full since plastic bags were banned, public executions just aren't the cheery spectacles they once were, and state-manufactured hammers and sickles are here to stay. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force. Malban's national animal is the Malbanic Viper, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

Malban is ranked 157,423rd in the world and 25th in Aeia for Highest Average Tax Rates, with 12.95 Effective Tax Rate.
