Nordic-Roman Treaty on Cultural Cooperation

Preamble:

This treaty is hereby established in order to provide for the interests of the populations of all signatories in the advancement and development of cultural knowledge, the pursuit of greater educational opportunities, the furthering of cooperation between the peoples and governments of the signatories, and to facilitate a sustained cultural and economic exchange. All of the signatories recognize these goals, and agree to provide for certain policies, programs, and institutions which will advance these ideals.



Article I: Language

(1) Recognizing the common motivations for the development of both the Nordic and Latin languages as a means for greater communication across the populations of the signatories, this treaty seeks to expand the usage of each language, and promote ease of communication between the Nordic and Roman peoples through the mutual use and understanding of these languages.

(2) The Nordic Federation shall establish institutions and policy to facilitate the teaching of the Latin language within its borders. It shall make reasonable efforts for the provision of courses teaching the Latin language at both secondary and tertiary educational institutions. It shall make reasonable efforts to promote the availability of curriculum, literature, and other resources in the Latin language.

(3) The governments of the United Roman Triumvirate shall establish institutions and policy to facilitate the teaching of the Nordic language within their borders. They shall make reasonable efforts for the provision of courses teaching the Nordic language at both secondary and tertiary educational institutions. They shall make reasonable efforts to promote the availability of curriculum, literature, and other resources in the Nordic language.

(4) Each of the signatories agree to adhere to generally accepted or mandated guidelines for the use and transcription of the Nordic and Latin languages.

Article II: Students

(1) Recognizing the necessity of firsthand experience in any cultural exchange, the signatories agree to establish provisions for the ease of educational travel in order to increase the exchange of ideas and culture, especially in the case of students.

(2) The Nordic Federation shall provide for programs which increase the ease with which students can travel to the United Roman Triumvirate for the primary purpose of cultural or linguistic education. It shall make reasonable accommodations and prevent discriminatory measures in the admittance of students from the Triumvirate to universities within its borders. It shall allow students to maintain a permanent residence within the Triumvirate during the course of their education without discriminatory tuition increases or the requirement for a visa.

(3) The governments of the United Roman Triumvirate shall provide for programs which increase the ease with which students can travel to the Nordic Federation for the primary purpose of cultural or linguistic education. They shall make reasonable accommodations and prevent discriminatory measures in the admittance of students from the Nordic Federation to universities within their borders. Article IV: Culture

(1) Each of the signatories agree to an official stance of cultural cooperation and promotion. They shall make reasonable efforts to preserve texts, digital media, films, and other records of cultural importance, and agree to not limit the availability of these items.

(2) Each of the signatories agree to generally promote or make available resources to allow for the study and experience of each other's cultures.

Signatories: The Nordic Federation (Lendenburgh), The United Roman Triumvirate (Helensted, Grandes terres, Fregantes Empire)
