The National Park of Lawid is a colossal, socially progressive nation, ruled by Casper I The Wild Alpha Of The Pack with a fair hand, and renowned for its strictly enforced bedtime, frequent executions, and ban on automobiles. The compassionate, democratic population of 7.055 billion African Wild Dogs are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The medium-sized, corrupt, liberal, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Administration, Education, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Newid. The average income tax rate is 71.8%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Lawidian economy, worth a remarkable 1,165 trillion Lewadollars a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized, fairly diversified black market in Tourism, Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Arms Manufacturing. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 165,268 Lewadollars, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Lawidian police have to pay out of their own pockets for bulletproof vests, this year's televised Budget Forecast has been cancelled because there was already one last year, the country's population is reported with a margin of error of several billions, and the jails are alive with the sound of birdsong. Crime is almost non-existent. Lawid's national animal is the African Wild Dog, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Lycaon Pictus.

Lawid is ranked 36,754th in the world and 93rd in The Region That Has No Big Banks for Highest Average Tax Rates, with 71.79 Effective Tax Rate.
